Vehicle Detail

Offered for sale is my 1998 Nissan Frontier King Cab 4WD, SE trim finished in paint code Platinum Frost-KN4. This is a truly rust free, one long term owner Frontier with just 76,600 miles that hails from the West Coast USA. The truck started its journey in Phoenix, AZ where it was sold brand new by Midway Nissan which is still in business to this day. It was purchased by Katherine Noell, taking her to her home in Colorado during years 1999 and 2000, Oregon from 2001 to late 2004, Texas from late 2004 to mid-2005, and California from late 2005 to mid-2010. At this point, Katherine moved to Wisconsin, where she was simultaneously diagnosed with a neurological disease that no longer allowed her to drive. The truck was put into heated, secure storage inside an old Simplicity Lawnmower warehouse in Port Washington, WI. It rested dormant in this warehouse until mid-October, 2018, never seeing the wintery, salty roads Wisconsin is infamous for. The next owner, Robert Laumann, storage worker who had paid careful watch to the truck over the last 8 years, purchased it in late October 2018. His intentions were to use the truck, but after realizing how truly unmolested and original it was, he instead listed it locally on Craigslist. This is where I stepped in, purchasing the truck on October 31, 2018. Its originality, spotless VIN history, and stack of complete service records drew me to it right away. I am a true vehicle enthusiast, having a particularly soft spot for rust free, factory spec vehicles. This truck is COMPLETELY ORIGINAL and number matching; factory paint, factory graphics, factory body panels, factory headlight and taillight lenses, OEM floormats, OEM sunroof sunshade cover, OEM bedliner, etc. The only modification to the truck from the factory is a 5000 pound hitch, which was installed in Colorado on April 13, 1999. Given that the truck has a 3500lb towing capacity, the hitch makes it the perfect candidate to tow a single axle boat trailer or pop-up camper. I have an extensive and comprehensive service history on this truck, starting in 1999 at 7300 miles and ending in 2010 at 72,000 miles, right before it made its trip to Wisconsin. It shows routine oil changes, two differential and transfer case services, and general maintenance. No large mechanical issues were noted. To get the truck road ready, the following has been completed within the last month: -Oil change with a Purolator Boss filter and Mobil 1 5W30 full synthetic oil -Spark plug replacement with NGK 6953 plugs -Spark Plug wire replacement with Isumo SPWS815 wires -PCV Valve replacement -Air filter replacement with Purolator one filter -Battery replacement with 525 CCA ValuePower -Battery terminal replacement, both terminals -Alternator replacement with new, warrantied unit from AutoZone -Four brand new BF Goodrich white letter tires in factory 235/75R15 size statically balanced on the premium, Nissan alloys -Full professional portering and detail of interior, exterior, and engine bay All work besides the detailing and professional tire mounting/balancing was performed by myself. I have wrenched on vehicles for years, as I enjoy the therapeutic nature fixing of fixing something mechanical. Furthermore, I am a Mechanical Engineer by trade, so paying attention to the little details and doing things the right way is more than just a habit for me, it is a way of day to day life. There are three little quirks the truck has revealed over the last 500 miles I have personally driven it. The blower motor for the HVAC system is a bit noisy on high speeds. It sounds as if there may be debris in the air channel. Additionally, when cold, the clutch makes a bit of a squeak upon engagement and disengagement. It has steadily gotten better the more I drive the truck. Keep driving it and I have confidence that it will subside completely. Lastly, the radio volume button lags. It will function, just takes a second to respond to your up or down input. Every single option on this truck works, and this is a BIG DEAL being a loaded vehicle. That includes the cruise control, fog lights, dual power mirrors, power windows, power locks, dome light, dimmer switch, all cruise control accel/decel/cancel functions, etc. Radio is AM/FM/Tape/CD equipped. All audio functions work as well. The truck is key less entry equipped with factory remote that has lock, unlock, and alarm buttons. Factory drivetrain equipment on Frontier reads as 5 speed manual transmission, 2 speed manual transfer case, and locking rear end, all of which operate as intended. The engine is Nissan’s venerable 2.4L, 16 valve, dual overhead cam straight four cylinder also found in the 240 platform, meaning it is ready and eager to play! It really is the neatest little truck to drive. The new tires are perfectly balanced and roll smooth all the way to highway speeds. The cabin is completely free of wind noise at highway speeds. It will start with the first twist of the key, settling right in to a 600rpm idle when warm. It warms up to normal operating temperature in just a few minutes. Sitting up high on the road like a truck chassis provides is great for visibility, while ride quality parallels more of a taught family sedan than a full size SUV. Quite frankly, if full size trucks rode like this, more people would buy them. This vehicle is another case where the manual transmission really makes it a joy to drive. Very little maintenance or electrical gremlins to worry about with this combination. Just proven Nissan reliability that is known to last well over 200,000 miles. This is a time capsule of a truck, finished in a stunning color combination. Truly as nice as they come. One of the last pure, mid size trucks made in the USA by a world renowned Japanese manufacturer. You can expect very few mechanical or electrical issues out of this Frontier for years to come. After all, it shows no rust or corrosion and is absolutely gorgeous top to bottom! I am located just one hour north of Milwaukee WI in Sheboygan. I have a clean WI title in hand that is ready to sign over to the next owner. Please call or text me anytime at (262)408-9549 with further interest. I am glad to assist with shipping at the winner’s expense.
