You Be the Judge!This is my personal vehicle...we have several in the family and are upgrading... This means this is a Private Sale, I am not a Dealer!This means I can't finance you, I don't accept credit cards, and won't deal with your finance company. If you are in the market for a GX470, consider my truck. It has 111,000 miles on it, which is ultra low for a 2004. Let me go into the GX470's and some of their "issues" and explain why you should consider my truck. I'm no expert, but we owned several of these and they are likely the most reliable truck on the planet...they have some quirks. -First and foremost, they have a timing belt, which needs to be changed religiously every 60,000 miles. If they break...you've destroyed your engine. While most people call this a $600 job...it isn't. To do it correctly you need to change the tensioners, and the water pump. This job is realistically in the $1500-$1800 range said and done. -The exhaust system on these trucks all corrode, and none will survive 130,000 miles without some sort of leak. These trucks should be very quiet, and every one I see start up at the supermarket has an exhaust leak. Get one with a newer exhaust, this is a $1200 repair, and after 130k, they ALL leak. -The frames...the Achilles heel of the GX470...the frames ALL rust. You may see a beautiful rust free truck, but most of them have control arms that are ready to rust off. If you are looking for one of these...crawl under it...I've seen some very scary GX470 frames...actually MOST of them! -The Exhaust manifolds...like clockwork...at 140k miles or so...you'll start getting a tick tick tick when you start them up. The exhaust manifolds crack...they ALL crack. A replacement of both exhaust manifolds costs about $2,000 said and done...usually turns into a $3200 job once you replace the rest of the rusty exhaust that is now leaking because its' been disturbed. -Fluid changes. While these trucks will run forever...literally...nobody seems to change the fluids...brake fluid, trans fluid, diff fluids, etc. I see most of these trucks driving around with 100k miles or better on their differential fluids. -Rear Suspension. These trucks have a air rear suspension...which, when working properly, is excellent...however the air bags eventually leak as these trucks age...and the ride height sensors fail. A air bag is $500 from the dealer...a ride height sensor is $300...be careful, most of these for sale have been converted to coil springs in the rear...which is ok...if you are into that sort of thing. -Keys...don't lose the keys...a single key is $400 + from the dealer. Enough said. About my truck! 1 Owner, 1 driver since new. This truck has had wool covers on all the seats since it had 200 miles on it. The carpets always had plastic on them since new. No children have ever been in this truck, I've had the rear seats down maybe 5 times in this trucks life. The truck has never seen snow insofar as it was used exclusively at our summer home. Hence, the interior looks like a 200 mile truck. It looks brand new. It has every factory option available, including Navigation, Mark Levinson sound, third row seating, ect. The exterior is 100% original and candidly looks like a 10,000 mile truck, aside from a few stone chips on the hood from normal driving, its in fantastic shape. Never been in any type of accident, fender bender, parking lot incident, ect. Even the wheels have no corrosion on them as they have never been exposed to rain, snow, ect. The truck leaks nothing and never has. I have every oil change receipt (2500-3000 mile intervals, no missed oil changes, always full synthetic) for the truck, as well as every service record. The truck has the original book, 4 original keys that all work. The tires are brand new $650 tires. The timing belt, water pump, radiator hoses, tensioner, and all fluids, including differential fluids were done 100 miles ago ($2600) The exhaust manifolds and full exhaust was replaced 4,000 miles ago ($3000) The front. calipers, rotors, etc. were done 10,000 miles ago. ($900) Air Suspension bags and electromagnetic shocks replaced in 2017 ($2900) The rear brakes and rotors done (15,000 miles ago). I always replace pads and rotors at the same time...just how I do things. This truck needs nothing, has no excuses, makes no excuses... Brand new color keyed Weather Tech mats included. ($200) If you want to buy a 4 owner rusted out frame GX470 on eBay with $5,000 in deferred maintenance, click away...ebay is full of them. However, my truck has been maintained to a level that far exceeds factory recommendations. I had all the 120K mile service done early so the next buyer needs to do nothing for the next 5 years except drive it. You will not find ANY GX470 with this mileage and this level of maintenance anywhere, that simple!
