Vehicle Detail
You are viewing a gorgeous, low-mileage, always unmarked, absolutely beautiful 1997 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. This was the last year for this body style of the Crown Victoria which was, arguably, the best car ever produced in the world. Recently out of service from a department in the northwestern United States, where it was assigned to one Chief of Police for it's entire life (yes, this is a true story...he kept the car as long as he could and was finally forced to buy a new car, we purchased it last fall and stored it over the winter, as it has never seen salt), and with only 96,772 actual, documented miles on it. This unit was NEVER used for regular police use. This is a beautiful example of a very rare and very hard to find car. This is an extremely clean and original example that is, likely, the nicest 1997 you will find for sale...anywhere. It came from an area where salt is NOT used on the roads, it is absolutely beautiful underneath and has ZERO rust anywhere. It is, likely, the cleanest, most corrosion-free 1997 Crown Victoria we have ever seen. All of the paint is 100% original and it has NEVER been in any kind of accident, whatsoever. The frame, floors, and all of the brake and fuel lines are beautiful...it's as nice underneath as it is on top. If you have been waiting for an absolutely gorgeous, unmolested example of the most iconic car of all time...this is it. It is absolutely one of the nicest I have seen. This is one for the discerning collector or enthusiast. It is as close to "flawless" as you will find, short of having purchased one brand-new. If you have been waiting, don't wait any longer...this is one of the last few in existence in this condition. It is the last of the "Aero" body style, and one of the best years for the Crown Victoria...they do not get any better, or nicer, than this. This unit is absolutely loaded with nearly every available option, including cloth front power bucket seating and matching, optional cloth rear seat, which has likely never been used. Aside from being a Police Interceptor, this car was also ordered with the coveted, 3.27 ratio heavy-duty 28-spline axle rear with "Traction-Lok" limited-slip differential, full factory carpeting, power seat, cruise control, factory AM/FM/Cassette stereo, full deluxe wheel covers, power mirrors, windows, trunk release, and locks. These items, of course, are just the beginning of the list of equipment on this car. In my years of buying and selling police vehicles, I have had very few cars that come close to the condition of this unit. It has been extremely well maintained, actually over-maintained, and needs no known repairs. This was a one-driver vehicle, assigned to one Chief of Police throughout the entire life of the car (we will provide proof of this to the purchaser). For those of you who know, that makes all of the difference in the world when it comes to how the cars are maintained and treated. It has little to no wear, anywhere, including the seating. It is doubtful that anyone has ever sat in the back seat, the interior is as close to mint as you will find. It has NEVER been smoked in, and has ZERO holes in the dash from equipment. It is finished in Performance White Clearcoat with Crystal Blue interior. It has been extremely well-maintained and it runs, drives and handles beautifully. It has never been abused and it looks as close to new as you will find, as well. The trunk compartment is extremely clean, and the brand-new, full-size spare tire is in place...it has never touched the ground. This unit is also equipped with, of course, the full "Police Interceptor" package which includes the 4.6-liter SOHC V8 engine, 4-speed overdrive heavy-duty transmission, heavy-duty 3.27 ratio heavy-duty "Traction-Lok" limited-slip rear differential, 225-70-15 police-spec, Good Year Eagle RS-A ultra-high performance radials (that are nearly new with approximately 2500 miles on them) mounted on the factory, heavy-duty, 15" police wheels with full, factory deluxe wheel covers, stainless-steel dual exhaust with factory crossover pipe, police-only lightweight balanced aluminum driveshaft, police-spec 4-wheel disc brakes, severe-duty suspension, heavy-duty cooling, lamp pre-wire group, certified 140-mph speedometer, and much, much more. Crown Victorias like this one are becoming nearly extinct, so here's your opportunity if you've been looking for one of the nicest ones you will ever find. This unit is in absolutely excellent condition inside and out and is very clean under the hood as well...the engine compartment is beautiful (please see the pictures). I do not slather motors with Armor All to make them appear nicer, or newer, than they are. The picture of this engine compartment is exactly as it was when the car was purchased...extremely clean. These are the Crown Victorias aficionados lust after, and this is an unmolested example. It is very responsive, smooth-shifting and, of course, very fast. This is a factory, all-original paint, Performance White car, not a re-painted color change like you will see for sale elsewhere. This unit is in absolutely gorgeous overall condition, has been very well-maintained and has little of the normal wear and tear you would expect to find on a used police package vehicle. It has never had any exterior lighting or markings installed, ever. This was always an unmarked car. This vehicle, as most used police vehicles do, will have imperfections...this typically includes; minor scratches, holes from equipment mounting, chips, nicks, dings, etc...that being said, this car has no known mechanical defects and it runs and drives excellent. Please, keep in mind, we strive to find the nicest used vehicles possible, but they are still used vehicles. This is a very nice driving, tight unit...not a beat-up, used patrol car. It is as close to driving a brand-new 1997 as you will ever experience. It has never been used for any type of patrol work. DON'T PASS THIS ONE UP, 1997 MODELS ARE VERY, VERY HARD TO FIND AND I DOUBT YOU WILL SEE ANOTHER FOR SALE IN THE NEAR FUTURE, IN THIS CONDITION. As with all of our auctions, this 1997 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor will sell to the high bidder at the end of the auction, providing the low reserve price is met. Please complete all inspections BEFORE bidding...if you win the auction, you own the vehicle. If you would like to come and see it we always urge that. You will not be disappointed. If there are any questions at all, please call us any time at 614-893-3857. Because of increasing expenses in every regard, we have been forced to raise our fees by $20, this is the first time in ten years that we have done this, so hopefully you will understand. There will be a $195 documentation fee and a $15 title fee added to each sale, these will be the ONLY additional fees you will be responsible for, unless you reside in the state of Ohio, in which case you will need to pay the proper amount of sales tax, based on the current rate for the county in which you reside. Temporary 30-day plate and registration is also available for $18.50. We do not charge any additional fees and there are no hidden charges. Most sellers are charging double this amount currently. I welcome any and all questions you might have prior to bidding on this Crown Victoria. I do reserve the right to end the auction early if the vehicle sells locally prior to the end of auction (please call if you like). I am a law-enforcement officer as well and, as such, work long hours so you are free to call me as late in the evening as you like. I can be reached anytime at (614) 893-3857. I will take calls 24/7 up until the end of the auction. Winning bidder agrees to forward a 25% partial payment (unless a lesser amount is agreed upon PRIOR to the end of the auction) at end of auction via direct bank wire transfer or by overnighted cashier's check, money order or certified funds. Balance will be due within seven days of end of auction or at time of pick up or delivery, whichever comes first. I will help in any way possible to arrange transportation. I can store the vehicle for up to 90 days, until pick up can be arranged, as long as it's paid for in full. I may be able to deliver this vehicle personally, depending on your location, at a reduced rate. I have been buying, selling and driving unique, specialty vehicles for over ten years now and take pride in offering only low-mileage vehicles that are not "run of the mill", beat-up cars and trucks. I specialize in the hard to obtain cars, SUV's and trucks, Dodge Charger Pursuit, 5.9 Cummins and Ford 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel trucks, Chevrolet Impala and Caprice 9C1 and 9C3 police vehicles, collectible and rare cars, trucks and vans. If there are any questions at all, again, please don't hesitate to call me at (614) 893-3857. I will answer all e-mails as quickly as possible. Thanks and good luck! Because of people who bid and do not contact me or pay, I am being forced to implicate a rule pertaining to low-feedback bidders. ANY BIDDER WHO BIDS, WITH A FEEDBACK OF 5 OR LESS, WILL HAVE THEIR BID RETRACTED IMMEDIATELY unless they contact me first, prior to bidding. I hope everyone understands, and I thank our hundreds of happy customers, but a few bad apples have spoiled the proverbial bunch. Thanks for understanding. Please remember, this is a used police vehicle, and not new, although it is probably as close to it as you will ever find. As such, it will have minor flaws consistent with the miles and age of the vehicle, and with the aforementioned use. That being said, it is in beautiful shape and runs & looks absolutely as close to new as you will ever find. It is not what you would typically expect, or what you will find elsewhere for sale. Please, if you want to come and look at it, do so BEFORE bidding...or call me, as always, at 614-893-3857 or e-mail me and I will answer any questions you may have. Thanks!
