Vehicle Detail

THE STORY:This is a great car! We love it! We're selling it because we need to move and moving is expensive. I am driving this car daily until we sell it, so if the mileage increases, I'll update the listing. I listed it at 99k miles, but it currently has less than 98k (pictured). It gets great gas mileage, so until we move, I can't afford to drive my truck 90 minutes each way to work and back. Reasonable offers will be considered, but only if reasonable. THE FEATURES:This vehicle (3VWRF31Y88M403550) has all of the following features, and probably some I'm forgetting..Automatic TransmissionStrong 2.5-liter, 5-cyl engineConvertible (power top)Rear DefrostPower WindowsPower LocksLeather SeatsHeated Front SeatsRoll Protection & AirbagsTilt & Adjust WheelCD/AM/FM StereoClock & Outdoor Temp DisplayFront Wheel DriveTurn Signal on Side Mirrors KNOWN ISSUES:(This is a comprehensive list of EVERYTHING known that needs attention or is less than perfect)Clear coat on front bumper is peeling in spots, but does not affect color, etc.ABS (Anti-lock Brake System) control module and pump need replacement. The correct used part is in the trunk, but needs a VW specialist mechanic who can reprogram the ABS computer and "marry" it to the VIN. Brakes work as is, but the light is illuminated on the dash. The door switch to open the trunk doesn't work. I rigged a pull string to open the trunk and it works fine. There are some cracks in the plastic of the door panels, and the driver side door panel has some glue around it showing. It was there before I got it and doesn't cause any problems. The top is tight and does not leak, but has normal signs of wear (pictured)The "Check Engine" light came on a couple weeks ago. Auto Zone's tester indicated that there is an intake air leak and one cylinder is running lean (fuel/air ratio) as a result. The engine runs perfectly fine as is, and is very strong. There is a "parasitic drain" that runs the battery dead if it sits for a few days. If driven daily, the batter stays charged and strong. If I know I'm not going to drive it for a few days, I plug it into a trickle charger/battery maintainer that I will include with the car. Minor issue, and is very common to this year/make/model from what I read. VW even made solar panel trickle chargers for this vehicle as a result. One headlight bulb needs replacing, and it could probably use some new wiper blades.Overall, it really is in great condition, and is super comfortable and fun to drive. It has a LOT of pep and almost handles like a sports car. If you have driven one of these, you know what I'm talking about. Don't miss your chance to get a great deal on a great car! ANYTHING ELSE?If you have ANY questions, please ask and I will do my best to give you a quick, accurate answer. Blue book value range is included in the pictures. Reasonable offers will be considered, and the price we are asking takes any issues into account. PAYMENT:$300 Deposit required within 24 hrs of auction close. Balance due in person in cash within 7 days of auction completion.
