Vehicle Detail

1979 International Scout II Highly optioned ScoutOff Road Package with Skid Plate, factory HD Springs, 3.73 GearsACCruiseClockRadioShadow StripesOne year only blue plaid interior Tow PackageShow Bar This one drive and runs excellent. She is all original Southern California Scout. Sheet metal is original and excellent with the exception of the dent on the rear passenger cap. The paint is all original. The interior is all original. This Scout is about as solid as you can get to have never been cut on or welded on. She is not hacked up like most and what you see is what you get. No filler or hidden issues. After 30 years of doing this, I just can't find them like this anymore so this may be my last Scout II. For anyone that knows me, will know that I buy them just like this. I get them running good, driving good, fix the stuff that matter and get all the little things working. You can take this Scout to the car show or take it back in the woods. It does not pretend to be anything that it is not and it meant to be enjoyed. This one drives 70 MPH on the interstate with no issues and will go anywhere in 4WD. This is one of the few that does not wander on the road. I think I may have had 2 out of twenty that did this without a ton of attention. What I would do next? Perhaps over the winter line the inner floor, put in new carpet, repair front seats with upholstery from original batch set ( I know a guy that has original seat covers and I can put you in contact) Probably the only fabric left period. Fix the end cap and clear over the original paint to extend the life. Replace some of the weather stripping. It is not bad but just old and brittle.
