Vehicle Detail
I have owned this car for about 3 years. I daily drove it for about a year. I picked up a new project and need some space in the driveway. This is an all original Chevy Camaro SS T-Top 6 Speed LS1 SLP car. It runs and drives. Factory Stock condition aside from the SLP Loudmouth exhaust which sounds amazing. The engine is in great condition, bone stock, unmolested, strong, no knocks/smoke. Has good oil pressure and stays cool even at idle on these hot days. The transmission is the T56 6 speed, it is perfect, shifts through all gears with no grinding or slipping. The interior is very clean with a few minor imperfections. Has a small crack in the center console, and a small crack on the dash. Noted in the pictures. The T-Tops do not leak. Which is somewhat unbelievable. This car is not perfect and I will be as honest as possible with the things that are wrong with it.The paint needs some work. The clear coat is peeling in 3 areas. The hood, and two spots on the spoiler (noted in pictures). There is also a small spot on the driver door that looks like it had bondo work and it is coming apart, I got the car with this, not sure what its from. The A/C works, but I removed the belt to the A/C Compressor. The bearing in the compressor went bad and would squeal, so I just removed it. It will need a new A/C Compressor. The rear end has a slight drone at 65-70mph, I bought it like this and the guy I bought it from hid it from me. Shame on me for not taking it on the freeway on the test drive. The issue has not gotten worse in the 3 years ive had it. It doesn't bother me, its just something you notice slightly, and its alarming when you just bought the car and are driving home realizing you got had.Low coolant light is intermittent. I think the sensor got gummed up by power steering fluid. I have fixed the issue, and the engine stays cool and has never overheated. I think it just needs a thorough coolant flush. These cars had a power steering cooler. Which I removed, a common modification people do with these cars. The power steering fluid would run through a coolant line (it was a weird thing GM did), to cool the power steering fluid. Well the fitting in the coolant line corrodes over time and leaked power steering fluid into the coolant. I found this shortly after buying the car (another thing the previous owner hid from me). Originally i figured I had a blown head gasket but after research I found the problem and just did the mod to remove the power steering cooler. All is well now, but the low coolant light comes on and off.The rear hatch has a weird quirk, you press the button to open it and have to go back and pull on the hatch (it wont open) go push the button one more time, and then you can open the hatch. Not an issue, just a quirk. The speakers suck. They work, and the radio works. But some of the speakers are blown. Finally the service engine light soon is on. I think I ran the code a while back and it was something to do with the fuel injectors. The engine runs perfect, so the code seemed like a faulty code to me and i never bothered with it.The previous owner sold me the car with an ignition key, and a fake door lock key (which does not unlock the door). He was a fraud, anyways, I only have an ignition key. So i never lock the doors, which hasn't been a problem and is a really easy fix I just haven't bothered with it.This is almost a 20 year old car. Never been restored. So it is not perfect. The power plant and power train are great which is why people buy these cars. From 10 feet it looks great, it sounds even better. If you know these cars, they are so much fun to drive. The car is set up so well from the factory to be a drivers car. Some Specs:320 hp @ 5200 RPM335 ft/lbs @ 4000 RPM3442 lbs curb weight
