Vehicle Detail
3rd Owner of this very nice example of the 1961 Buick Two Door Bubble-top. Vehicle has 145,450 Miles All Numbers Are Matching! Factory Power Steering with one finger on the wheel. Power Brakes with the classic Buick Front Finned Drums. Exterior is White with Red and Gray Interior and Red Carpet. Interior shows extremely well. The Headliner is in great shape. The chrome is in very good shape, very little pitting and shines up very nicely. The body is in great shape with one repaint years ago by previous owner who owned the car for 26 years. He also moved the antenna from the left front fender to the right quarter panel for a better look. Speedometer is the Mirromatic Instrument Cluster that lets you read the speedometer and warning lights through the adjustable mirror. You will blow peoples minds at car shows when they see it. I replaced the original black carpet with period correct red carpet, this totally changed the interior look and improved things immensely. The trunk is custom finished with side panels in the quarter panels and a false bottom in black carpet. This allows you to store your items underneath and keep a very clean look. Engine has new single wire alternator replacing original generator which delivers more power and corrects an electrical issue I was dealing with. New thermostat and water pump as well as thermostatically controlled radiator fan was another improvement I made. The car has duel exhaust with muffler fort a little sound but not overdone. Car drives down freeway very smooth at 70mph and stops very well. I have taken car on numerous trips all over the midwest with no issues. I have driven this car all over Route 66 from Chicago to Oklahoma and have had a blast. It gets thumbs up everywhere you go. This is a very reliable and great looking car. You will enjoy every mile and smile! On Aug-19-18 at 03:48:56 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had several questions regarding Wheels and Condition of the body and underside of car. The wheels and spare are 1973 Buick Rallye Wheels shown in a few of the photos. I also am including the Hubcaps that are on over the rallye wheels in the majority of the photos. The Body is in wonderful shape. No rust, dents or scratches. There is a small chip in the paint on the hood about the size of the tip on a NO. 2 Pencil. Very small I have owned the car for 7 years and am the 3rd owner. The first owners were in Tacoma, Washington and had it 24 years. The second owner was also in Tacoma and had it 26 years. He was an engineer for Boeing and did the repaint, moved the antena from the left front fender to the right quarter and finished the truck with a false bottom and put the finish panels in the inside quarters. I have replaced the black carpet with red, Put a new water pump in, replaced mechanical fan with a thermostatically controlled fan and replaced generator with a one wire alternator. I also replaced the tail lights with LED bulbs that are much brighter and put a LED Light on the rear license plate which is very bright and looks great. I had a the 2 Speed Dynaflow Transmission worked on a few years ago. Spent $1,500.00 on it due to a leak. Within two years it was leaking again and from what I understand this is normal on these transmissions. No other leaks with the car at all. The underside of the car is very nice. No rust and dry. I also have replaced the original muffler on the car with a "Flo-Pro" to give it a little sound. The original muffler will come with the sale. The windshield wiper motor no longer works. I have treated the windshield with a product called Nano Liquid Glass Protector and has worked very well in wet weather.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ltBz8OoEBY
