Vehicle Detail
1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Sport Coupe - 2 door hardtop, featuring built 350 w/performance cam, Holley 600 cfm double-pumper carb, Tremec 6 speed manual, power 4 wheel disc brakes, new Cooper tires on Cragar SS rims. This car runs excellent, starts easily, thumps at idle, quick and powerful and sounds great! It's a blast to drive! Original manual steering, front suspension may need some fine tuning, slight shimmy on cornering at 40+ mph. Goes down the road pretty straight though, just had new 2" lowering front springs installed with new shocks and idler arm, and front end alignment. Air shocks in rear. Car came from California, according to the ID tag it was built in Van Nuys, very little rust. That said, it's not a show car, nor is it priced like one. Lots of little flaws, interior is cool and functional with buckets out of a '64 Merc Marauder, amateur recover of the rear seat and it needs a new headliner. Have original headliner with bows and all chrome trim pieces. Paint looks like twenty-year old acrylic enamel, looks good but certainly isn't perfect. Rockers and body supports and floors are intact but some rust is showing, some minor rust bubbling in the trunk on the driver's side rear fender well. Car is an awesome hot rod just as it is - get in it, start it up and drive it, it's ready to go! $500.00 Paypal deposit due within 48 hours of auction's end. Good luck!On Aug-09-18 at 15:20:08 PDT, seller added the following information: I added 15 more photos; if you need anymore please let me know and I'll send them your way. Also, forgot to add that the rear window regulators are shot, and the front aren't great either. Included with the sale is a brand-new, in the box Danchuk power window kit for all four windows ($800 value). I hope I've answered all the questions about the body. As I mentioned previously, it's an older amateur paint job that looks pretty nice - I get lots of compliments on the car. I'm sure it has filler in some of the panels, but I don't think it has much. If it had huge amounts of filler, it would have most likely cracked after 20 years, and if lots of rust had been repaired, that would be showing up too. As it is, there are only about 3 places on the car where any slight bubbling is occurring. I've told people that have asked that yes, I wouldn't hesitate to drive the car anywhere. It has always fired right up, doesn't seem to take any oil, doesn't smoke, doesn't make any weird engine noises, has never over-heated for me. Gauges on dash work, although fuel gauge is not accurate -it goes up to 3/4 when full, and will drop down to E when empty. Please email any questions. Not wanting to hide anything! Thanks
