Vehicle Detail
Thank you for looking. And thank you in advance, but I do not need any help selling my R90S!! I have owned this 1974 R90S for a few years. I originally purchased it with the intent of doing one of my restorations, but decided its cosmetics are too nice to restore. It is better left for someone to ride. I restore BMW R90S motorcycles and you can follow my restorations on Instagram at R90Sdoc. I own currently own 5 R90S's and a number of other bikes, so I am storing several bikes at my generous friends house. I already own another 1974 R90S that I completely restored and showed at the 2018 Quail Motorcycle Gathering (second place finish), so I would like to sell this one. This is a matching numbers and great riding R90S and I would not hesitate to ride across country on it. I recently completed a 156 mile ride without a hiccup. It idles, accelerates, shifts and stops like it should. It runs very strong. It is also a very nice looking R90S with all original factory paint. The paint is full of blems as you would expect for a 44 year old vehicle, but the R90S presents very well. Everything on the bike works as it should except the clock. The following is a list of items that have been completed on this R90S and I know I will forget to list many: All mechanicals have been restored approximately 650 miles ago.Complete engine including new first over KS (KolbenSchmidt = factory) pistons, new valves, valve job etc, by John Maynard BMWNew clutch assemblyDellorto carbs rebuilt using factory partsOriginal 5 speed kicker transmission rebuilt by Bob's Motor Werks in MT. He is an airhead transmission specialist.Original final drive was resealed by BMW Escondido Motors in Escondido, CA by their Master Tech Paul Shilito.Rear suspension received new shock insertsFront forks rebuiltNew cables throughout New tires Previous owner installed the very handsome and expensive Akront front and rear rims with polished stainless steel spokes. They looks awesome in my opinion. He also installed a San Jose billet aluminum upper triple tree brace that stiffens up the front end. Last, he installed the same improved driveshaft that BMW started putting into airheads in the early 1980s. This R90S comes with single round barrel key that fits just the ignition. Please ask if you have any questions and I will do my best to promptly answer them. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, but I can assist with loading the bike with the shipper. A $250 pay pal deposit is required within 24 hours of purchase. I can store the fully paid bike for up to 2 weeks if needed. I buy, restore and sell a lot of R90S motorcycles and I make every effort to honestly represent each one I sell. Thank you in advance, but I do not need any help selling my R90S!!
