Vehicle Detail

General – I am selling the best truck I have ever owned. It is a 1996 Ford, F-250, XLT, Heavy Duty, Extra Cab, 8800 GVWR, with towing package. These are some of the most sought after of all pickups. This model year is the last of the ninth generation F-Series which were produced from 1992 through 1996. The truck has 147,577 miles and I am the second owner, having owned it for over fifteen years. This one would make a great shop truck, tow vehicle, advertise your business, construction truck, toy hauler, or use for farm or ranch work. Mechanical This truck has its original 7.5 liter (460CID) engine, with Ford’s 4 speed 4R70 AOD-E transmission. It is a four wheel drive with the optional 410 ratio differential The factory air filtration system was replaced years ago with a K&N system. The truck has been maintained by myself, Smitham Brothers Automotive and Helena’s Capital Ford. In order to feel right about selling the truck, I have recently spent many hundreds of dollars on the brake system, and new exhaust. Also, the oil and filter were replaced less than 100 miles ago. I will provide my maintenance records and give you my service manual for the 96 F series. Exterior – No paint falling off this one, (see pictures). That in part being attributed to an annual professional detail/wax, and my frequent hand washing . The truck just completed its detail for the 2018 year. It does however have 22 years of paint chips, scratches and blemishes, and the rear bumper has a couple of kinks and the plastic strip on the tailgate is broken. The truck is virtually rust free, one minor surface spot on the driver’s side cab, and another near the door handle. It comes with nine mounted 16 inch tires, four summer, which will get you through this summer, four studded winter with 2/3 tread left , and one almost new all season spare. Also, it comes with two sets of chains. Not sure if the topper is exterior or interior but it is a very nice, color matching one, but does leak. Interior - A nicely optioned truck for its vintage, probably the most significant of which are an excellent air conditioner and heater. All gages work, and all lights function properly except for the little blue light in the dash for high beams has never worked. One interior deficiency is the passenger’s window malfunctions periodically from the drivers control, but works fine at the passenger's panel. The dash has a crack; however, it has a nice dash cover, (see picture). Not sure if the glass is interior or exterior, but it all in good condition as I replaced the windshield recently. Summary – This back in the day Montana truck is an excellent example of originality and is very complete to include all the garnish, trim, interior features, etc. It has never been hot rodded and there are no significant modifications. It still has many years and miles to work for your business, take you hunting and fishing and, or tow your toys. Payment, Disclaimers, Storage, and Transportation - I require a nonrefundable deposit of $500.00 within 48 hours and the remainder prior to me sending you the title. I prefer bank to bank transfer, or cash in person. Please only the initial $500 by PayPal, because of their surcharge, unless you are willing to pay their 3%. Well I have tried to represent the truck as honestly and accurately as I can. Please read my narrative; please look closely at the pictures. The truck is sold as is, where is, and with no guarantee or warrantee implied or specified. It is not a show truck but turns heads and starts conversations wherever I go. I am very proud of my 100% eBay feedback rating and will answer questions. I will post some of them so that others may benefit. If you have less than 10 bid history, please contact me so I can be sure of your sincerity and ability to pay, or I will cancel your bid. If you send after the truck I will assist with your transport in any way I can. The new owner should purchase his/her insurance prior to transport as I will cancel mine. Good luck with your bidding and thank you for your time spent in reading my listing. On Jul-27-18 at 07:15:13 PDT, seller added the following information: Addendum 27 July 18 - I have been asked if the bed is a 6 or 8 foot. Actually it is neither, in those days the "short" bed was 83 inches inside diameter, or just short of 7 feet. On Jul-27-18 at 11:47:29 PDT, seller added the following information: Addendum 27 July 2018 - Hi there, not sure who I am talking to but I will try to answer your questions. What I do for a hobby now I am retired, is rescue, work on and show old cars and trucks. I use my 16 foot flatbed trailer ever few weeks in the summer to pick up an old car or truck or take one to a show. Between the trailer and as an example, my 47 3/4 ton Chevy, the weight will be in the vicinity of 7,000 lbs. and this old Ford pulls the Montana passes just fine. To answer your gas mileage question, running empty I can squeeze 12 mpg, towing is largely terrain dependent but it will go down from there. Thank you for your question, I am going to post this one as I have been asked similar frequently. On Jul-29-18 at 08:25:59 PDT, seller added the following information: Addendum - 29 July 2018 - The most asked question is "if it is the best truck you have ever owned why are you selling it"?. Well its because, even at my age, I still do dumb things. I got to wanting a new or newer truck and bought a very nice 2015 Superduty. After owning it for almost a year, I have come to the conclusion, it does nothing or very little better than old Blackie did. Also I don't need two registrations, two insurances and two maintenances. Thank you
