Vehicle Detail
I'm selling my beautiful, fully restored, 1979 Honda GL1000 Goldwing. This amazing bike is a serious daily rider and touring bike, ready to ride anywhere, anytime, while also being qualified for display or collection duty. Always wanting to take a long trip on an old Goldwing, I bought this bike from the restorer for a recent 1500 mile trip through Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana. The bike performed perfectly, as expected. It is now cleaned and polished, and ready for a new home. The bike has a clean Colorado title, registration, and insurance in my name, and is located in Fort Collins, CO 80525. I can guarantee you will not be disappointed with this bike, especially with the full Vetter touring package locking luggage, and Vetter Windjammer fairing (all color matched with new paint and pinstriping of course). This Goldwing was restored in Loveland, CO from 2005-2007 or so, with about 5000 miles on the complete rebuild. I purchased the bike from the builder. Highlights of the motor-out rebuild:Frame powder coated semi-gloss blackEngine re-painted and baked for durabilityValve covers resurfaced and polishedTiming belt covers resurfaced and polishedAll body parts painted and pinstriped Heads planedValves replacedValve seats replaced and honedNew piston ringsNew rod bearingsNew main bearingsNew water pumpNew timing beltsRadiator professionally cleanedNew radiator hosesNew thermostatCarburetors rebuiltNew oil pressure switch, neutral switch, and water temp sensorsNew clutchNew full exhaust system with turn-down mufflersNew Dynatek electronic ignition and high performance ignition coilsMisc. seals, o-rings, and covers replacedNew tiresProgressive rear shocks and front springs, fork seals, and oilAll brake components, fluids replaced (reused original rotors)New statorNew regulatorNew batteryNew cablesA few modifications have been made. There is an electric radiator cooling fan indicator light, and override switch. The light is on when the fan is running. The fan is still controlled by the original temperature switch. The override switch allows you turn on the fan at lower temperatures when desired. I have installed a modern combined MOSFET voltage regulator rectifier in the place of the original separate rectifier unit. The original separate regulator unit is installed in it's original location (under left side false tank cover), but is disconnected. The original voltage regulator was allowing slight overcharging at the battery, so I upgraded to a modern combined unit for peace of mind in battery charging for my trip. The original rectifier is included with the bike. 2 complete sets of keys are included (ignition, side luggage boxes, top luggage and fairing). Original owners manual is included in false tank storage box, along with original Honda tool kit. A CD-ROM is included with complete pictures of the restoration. Paperwork and owners manuals are included for the Vetter components, Dynatek ignition, and more. Some various spare parts will be included as well. This bike is unbelievable, and ready to be ridden anywhere, anytime, or put on display! Feel free to call me anytime with questions, or to request any additional pictures or video. I am happy to quickly provide any further information you need. My cell phone number is 619-985-2527, and my name is Evan. I am starting this auction at $0.99 with no reserve. I expect the amazing condition of this Goldwing will drive an appropriate selling price. This 1979 Honda Goldwing GL1000 needs nothing, and is ready to ride anywhere. You're welcome to fly into Denver and ride it home anywhere. It is located in Fort Collins, CO 80525, about an hour North of Denver. I will assist with shipping as needed, though buyer is responsible for arranging and paying for shipping. I recommend haulbikes dot com, they are awesome and reasonably priced, and I have used them many times in the past with no issues. I require payment in full within 3 days of auction closing, unless we discuss otherwise. Payment by personal check is fine, though I must keep bike until check has cleared for a minimum of 48 hours, longer at my discretion. I will accept PayPal personal transfers only. Please ask any questions before bidding, my cell phone number is above for a reason, use it! Local inspection and/or pickup is just fine, call me to arrange.
