Vehicle Detail

Rare OEM TITLED 1917 Henderson 60.40 cubic-inch (998cc) model G 12hp engine with original nickel Schebler carburetor, Simms magneto ignition, and complete three speed gearbox with clutch. Cylinders have all been sleeved and fitted with new intake and exhaust valves, springs, and guides. Cylinder bores have been finish- honed and individually fit with new forged aluminum J&E pistons, wrist-pins, and rings. Crank is in excellent condition, and main babbit bearings look very good. Rods & caps are nice. Rod babbit bearings and upper bushings need to be re-done. Clutch assembly is complete and in good working order. Transmission is complete, shifts through all three gears, and all gears & shafts look very good. The kicker gear and side cover plate are missing. I did have them, but cannot locate either at this time. Camshaft is great, all synchronizing gears are in great shape. Valve pockets have all been finished. All eight tappets are in the engine, but I cannot locate the rear cylinder exhaust valve adjuster. All internal parts are numbered and native to this engine. Case has very good, ancient gas-weld repair on the flywheel hump- and another repair at the forward inspection hole on left side. Upper & lower cases were cast December 28, 1916, & Jan 10, 1917, respectively. Exhaust manifold is original & perfect. I donated intake manifold to a friend's project a while back. The Smiths, in Oregon, will have any missing parts for this motor. OVERALL CONDITION IS good. This is going to need some work, but it is no secret that these are hard to find with gearbox intact. Made in Detroit, Michigan USA. Check my other auctions. I have a partial front fork for this engine listed in another auction. I've offered this to a couple of personal friends, so I do reserve the right to end auction. Shipping in continental USA in wooden crate is $196.60 via FedEx. Trust my 100% positive feedback. May be picked up in Daytona Beach, Florida. I will ship Worldwide. I cannot estimate shipping for international buyers. Bid with confidence, we can work out shipping arrangements after auction ends. On Jul-07-18 at 17:16:01 PDT, seller added the following information: I tried to revise the listing to add detailed photos of the transmission gears & clutch, but eBay would not let me remove existing photos due to the fact that I have bidders on the auction. You may see video of the crank, camshaft, and gearbox rotating on my July 7th Instagram post @choppers.inc
