Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1998 Toyota Tacoma single cab, base model. This is a no reserve auction! History of vehicle.Truck belonged to a friend of mine who purchased it back in the summer of 2016 if I am not mistaken. He bought it off an older gentleman out of PA. He'd purchased the vehicle to keep at his cabin in the Catskills. He would ride his motorcycle up there and use the truck whenever he needed to go shop or whatever. He is a nut when it comes to car maintenance, so I knew if I would ever buy another vehicle I'd go to him and ask if he'd sell. Reason for buying. Back in September of 2017 I left my job of 15 years and got a new job. In doing so, I lost my company vehicle. I then resorted to use my 1986 Toyota mini truck as a daily for commuting 130 miles every day. Great truck that, and I wouldn't have stopped using it but back in December, in a snow storm I ended up rear ending two cars at a light! That is when I decided to find another vehicle to commute with, one that would be a little safer. That's when I reached out to my buddy to see if his truck was for sale. I knew he keeps his cars in top notch shape so I knew what I was getting. Reason for selling. This is a great truck and I never thought I'd end up selling it. I made a mistake and I drove a friend's 100 series land cruiser. I have since found a great 2004 J100 that I bought. Vehicle details. This is a 1998 Tacoma, base model with an automatic transmission (manual would have been awesome) that is in excellent mechanical shape. The only luxuries are Air Conditioning which works great and a cassette player. I purchased the truck with little under 75k miles and I have put almost 8k on it since January. My commute is 89% interstate, with the other 11% rural roads, so the truck isn't being abused in traffic and cities. When I purchased the truck it had already received an extensive amount of maintenance and work to keep it in top notch shape. Among those items the vehicle had:* All fluids changed in both diffs and t-case. * New style 4Runner rims* Brand new Yokohama GeolandarA/T tires in 33" diameter. (Truck is geared at 4.56:1 from factory, making the tires slightly large for the gearing but when you get new tires you can downsize to 32")* Brand new OME springs in front and Alcans in the back, with 2" of lift and riding on Bilstein 5100 s'* Brand new Toyota Factory belts* Newly installed tool box in bed*Alignment done two weeks agoVehicle equipment as it sits today is limited to manual windows, a rear sliding window, manual locking hubs ( a plus in my book), manual transfer case (another plus in my book), Air Conditioning and heat, and a cassette player that is original to the truck. It also has bucket seats and a center console. What it needs.*Vehicle needs a spare tire and rim as I currently do not have one. (easy fix for that) *Just got a rock to the windshield, so it has a chip and a crack about 5 inches long Who should not buy this truck. If you are looking for blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, auto braking, auto pilot and all the other tech out there making everyone a worse driver, than this truck is not for you. Who should buy this truck. If you are looking for an ultra reliable, great little truck that can do it all just right, then this is the vehicle for you! To close, I want to mention that I would like all bidders ask their questions prior to the auction's end. I described the vehicle as best I can but I may have missed something. Please ask your questions and I will make sure to answer them prior to auction's end. I will stress that this vehicle is in excellent mechanical condition. It is a fly in and drive home truck. However, it is not without its blemishes and imperfections. The tuck has some paint fading, about the size of the palm of my hand on the passenger side fender, has a couple chips on the front of the hood which I purchased factory touch up paint for, and also has a slight crease of sorts on the hood. I will try to make a video and link it to the listing as well, hopefully the video will show everything accordingly. Please only bid if you intend to buy, bid only if you have the finances available. I will cancel all bids of all users without any feedback as well. I reserve the right to end the auction early, as the truck is also for sale locally. Good luck, and happy bidding!!
