No third gear!!! I bought this bike not running. Cleaned the carbs, changed the oil, installed a new battery, changed the petcock, cleaned the caliper and master cylinder, flushed the tank, new plugs, inspected the points which look brand new, turned the key and she fired right up! Awesome. Clutch worked perfect. Clicked in gear and down the road I went. Pulled really strong in first. Shifted smoothly into second. Up one more to third and there was nothing there. Four and five where there but somewhere in it's 44 year life third gear decided to leave. Maybe it's just me but if I where to sell this bike like I am now I think this is an issue that should be disclosed. Anyway I am hoping that there is someone in the eBay universe that has the technical skills I lack to bring this old girl back to her former glory. Bike has a half way decent aftermarket paint job. Saddle has been recovered. 4 into 2 pipes. Original airbox ( I replaced the cracked airbox boots) Instruments work as does the high and low beams, horn, turn signal beeper and left turn signal. Right does not flash. All chrome has an honest patina to it with no major pitting. Spoke rims are in very nice shape also. Tires hold air but need replacing. Bike does not leak or smoke. Exhaust is a little loud where it comes out of the engine but quiets as it warms. I am auctioning this bike with no reserve to the highest bidder. It is not for sale anywhere else.
