Vehicle Detail

1964 Dodge Polara 500 This Polara 500 is a great example of an original unrestored car. I purchased this car from the original owners Grandson. It was purchased new here in eastern Oregon and has been garaged here all it's life. The engine is a 383 4 barrel Big Block with the 727 automatic transmission. The optional heavy duty locking rear differential. I rebuilt the carb, replaced the valve guide seals and fuel pump. Before trying to start it I cleaned all the fuel system of all the old gas. It starts, runs and drives good. The brakes are very good. I found one cylinder with low compression causing it to smoke. Rings? It still has remarkable power. The engine could be rebuild or would make a great Hemi or Wedge project car. Interior and outside lights all work. The dual exhaust system is new.The Red and White interior is in amazing condition. Optional bucket seats in red vinyl, outlined with a white stripe. Matched up with the center console with Tach and automatic floor shifter for the sport car look. No cracks in the dash or glass. No tears or cracks in the beautiful RED interior. Has the rare optional dash clock. Optional radio with rear speaker that both still work. Dealer installed Air Conditioning package. Carpet is new replacement. Headliner is perfect. The chrome and stainless trim is like new. The outside trim can be expensive and hard to find, but this car has beautiful and complete trim all around the outside.Tires are still the bias ply. Caps are mismatched. The only rust I found is in the bottom of the right front fender. The original owner replaced the front right fender years ago due to a slight fender bender. The wrecking yard replacement fender has a rougher condition look to it's paint. The wrecking yard item number is still visible on the underside. The underside of this Dodge body is also amazingly clean with no rust. Floor boards are like new. This Polara has survived extremely well. The original factory paint has some chips and dings and thin spots as expected for being 54 years old. This would be a great car just to have as an original. OR -- Clone it into a Hemi or Wedge car.Ask me any questions you have. You can't go wrong. My rating is 100% good.Dennis
