Vehicle Detail
Yep..It's a VW Vanagon. Runs, drives, stops, horn goes "Beep Beep!" Was sitting for a long time before I got it. Drained the gas, fitted new main relay and...TAA DAA! it runs. Has one weak cylinder. Don't know why, don't care to know. Valve? rings? It starts right up and runs pretty darn well. Doesn't seem to be leaking anything. If I needed the van I'd install a Subaru engine but I don't need another van so here it is. I replaced anything I saw that needed replacing. LF caliper, steering rack boots, outer tie rod ends, wiper blades. Also replaced the worn plastic parts in the shifting system. Has older correct 6 ply tires on it. Needs a good cleaning inside and out. Van had AC but it was removed when I got it. As an 1985 it has power steering and the better sliding door. That door HAS a dent in the bottom rear but works just fine. The tops surfaces are sunburned as I think it lived in Florida at some time. I own a Vanagon camper and two Sprinter vans and that makes me WAAAY overstocked on vans. Located in Dublin VA with easy access to I-81. I have the ability to have it inside and on a lift for inspection if someone wants to come check it out. I'd really LIKE someone to do that before bidding. The vehicle is sold AS IS. That means you bid, you buy, you take possession and should it explode in a ball of flame and shrapnel at the end of the driveway, my responsibility ends at calling 911. AS IS means exactly that. VW vans appeal to new age/under age/no age people and that's good. However, this is being sold for cash 'merican. I don't need any tie dye or mystic crystals in exchange for a van. Make sure your financing is in place BEFORE bidding. If you need to go to the Bank of Mom, make sure your room is clean and she's onboard with this. Need to sell your stash? Do it BEFORE bidding! This is brought on by having, more than once, had the bidding end on a VW van and the high bidder sends a note that starts "Hey DUDE! I'm sorry but......" Yeah..wunnerful...I do travel and there is a possibility I could deliver this for expenses. Check with me BEFORE bidding if you're interested in that. Van would have to be paid for in full and, should it break in half on the way, you own both pieces. It CAN sit here for a reasonable time once it's been fully paid for. Really. I think this a a pretty good van and I'm listing it starting at a bit less than I can get for the major parts. Ask questions and I'll post the responses so everyone is in the know. 'Nuff said..
