Vehicle Detail
Thank you for looking; this a bittersweet time for me as I've owned this 2003 Honda Civic EX since 2005. I bought this car with 19,022 miles on it and now she has 315,600 miles on her. As you can tell I drive a lot and I just recently purchased a 2018 Honda Accord to replace this one. Up until a week and a half ago I was driving this car between 500-1000 miles a week without any issues. I have a long Ebay history with an impeccable record, so I'm going to do my best to provide as much information as possible: I have an extensive history with this vehicle and have done much of the work myself (I am fully qualified as I have worked as both a mechanic and auto machinist in the past. There were a couple of items that I did not do and will make note of those. I have done timing belt and water pump replacements at the 105,000 miles intervals (I have not done the one for 305,000 yet though). The cylinder head was pulled reconditioned and a valve job done at just shy of 200,000 miles. The AC compressor was replaced at around 205,000. The front ball joints, struts at all 4 corners, and front compliance bushings (replaced with graphite impregnated urethane bushings) at around 150,000 miles. The alternator was replaced about 2 years ago as were the belts. I just installed a full exhaust system including the catalytic converter and both O2 sensors about 2 months ago. This car is a manual and is on the ORIGINAL clutch. People have told me that it is not physically possible, but I'm here to tell you that it is. This car has been driven a lot, but very gently. There is no evidence of any clutch slippage and I think that providing the car isn't abused it'll keep going. The car just recently had the check engine light come on showing a P0443 which is related to the purge control valve for the emissions. I haven't had a chance to replace the valve, which is $42 from Auto Zone. The car is currently on snow tires on the original rims. They will be good for a little while longer, but I'd recommend replacing them in the near future. The AC compressor is a little tight (it was a remanufactured unit that I bought from Amazon about 4 years ago). The unit will blow nice cold air, but hates when the engine is idling and squeal at idle. There is a ding on the roof from when a huge piece of metal came off of a tractor trailer during one of my trips. I have been sanding it down and hitting it with duplicolor every couple years. It's due again for a little sanding. The only rust that I can see on the car is on the bottom of the drivers door and it's just starting, so if you catch it now, you'll be ok. I had to repair the hood latch a couple years back as the metal that Honda used was thin, so I removed the front end and welded in 1/8" steel stock and haven't had any issues since. There was also a ding in the right rear corner of the car which I repaired many years ago. Someone tapped into my car in a parking lot and drove away. It is unnoticeable, but I wanted to disclose everything. The car has never been smoked in, abused and has a nice clear title. It breaks my heart to let it go as all my friends joked that my daughter would own it one day (she's only 5 now). If you have any questions, please feel free to let me know, I'm a full disclosure seller if you couldn't tell by now. I also have another set of rims for it if you would like something a little sportier, I would swap between winter and summer tires as this car with the 17" rims and Hankook rubber rode so well. These rims are not included in the sale, but for a very very reasonable amount of money we can work that out if you'd like. If you're a new Ebayer with 0 feedback, please email me prior to bidding otherwise I'll cancel those bids. The car is located in Newtown, CT and ready for a test drive if you'd like. I will not ship the car, but if you'd like to have it shipped I'll work with the shipper of your choice. Thanks and happy bidding,-Jay
