The truck was not in an accident and was less than a year old. One of the batteries spontaneously failed and fried the wiring harness. I removed the engine and body and replaced the wiring harness with the exact replacement from another 2006 truck that I had purchased. Before I reinstalled the wiring harness and engine, the engine bay and underside of hood were painted the same finish to match the exterior paint of the truck. I removed all emblems, filled in all holes and Rhino-lined the lower half, bed and running boards. I also took the driver's leather seat out of my parts truck and installed it in this truck. The windows have been tinted, a clear bra put on the hood and a custom grill installed. Later in the trucks life I damaged the tailgate and repainted it and probably should have replaced it, so that is why it is cracking. See photo. The rest of the paint on the truck still looks beautiful as I only used the best quality paint. There are a very few random rock chips, as to be expected for the age of the truck. The lower portion of the front grill has a crack in it. See photo. This was my weekend truck which I used for camping and towing. I put 150,000 problem free miles on it. It has been driven less than 1,000 miles in the last two years. The only breakdown was a FICM (Fuel Injection Control Module). I always carry a spare, one comes with the truck. I have been a certified ASE mechanic for 38 years. I've owned and operated Foreign Cars, Inc. for 25 years. THIS TRUCK NEEDS NEW TIRES ASAP AT YOUR COST.
