1971 Mercedes Benz 280 SL -Automatic and 55K miles I bought this car for my wife from original owner in 1985 ! car was parked after she passed, and was in garage storage for many years. Last year the car was taken out, and several items were installed to make the car run again : new fuel Tank and fuel pump new battery, changed engine oil and filter, plus changed automatic transmission oil and filter, complete tune up, new motor mounts, all wheel bearing were changed and greased. We started the engine and she runs and drives beautiful, no wobble or steering wheel shaking and no smoke from exhaust. Car has no a/c but has Pagoda hardtop. Drivers side floor pan had small hole in it, so we replaced the floor with new panel. surface rust around wheel wells was grinded and metal replaced as needed. the car now is rust free. Have spare tire and cover. the car will need new paint job, (its dull flat and has no shine) new carpet ($550) new seat upholstery ($1200) both doors need inner boards and panels @ $450 each, plus rear quarter panels will need new fabric, its in good condition, but dated. Dash board wood will need to be replenished, and heater knobs will also need to be replaced. Engine bay needs detailing. Soft top is original and is in good condition. overall the car is in good condition considering its age, with little TLC the car will shine once again. I just don't have the time and energy to take it to the next level. car is being sold " as is where is " condition, and there is no warranty of any kind.
