The Lotus Elise is one of the greatest handling cars ever built at any price point. The Elise responds to your every input with enthusiasm. It is powered by the all-aluminium 190 horsepower1.8L DOHC engine and at only 1,975 lbs this car will sprint from zero to 60 mph in under 4.9 seconds. One of the purest driving experiences available. Colin Chapman’s (the founder of Lotus) design philosophy focused on cars with light weight and fine handling instead of bulking up on horsepower and spring rates, which he famously summarized as "Adding power makes you faster on the straights. Subtracting weight makes you faster everywhere." If you’re looking for creature comforts this car is not for you. Stepping into a Lotus Elise is more like stepping into a purpose built race car than a road car. You feel the road through the steering wheel and the seat of your pants. You hear and fell the sound of the high revving engine which sits right behind your head. The open targa top allows you to feel the wind in your hair. The front clam shell was slightly damaged in a minor fender bender and therefore the car has a reconstructed title. I have included a picture of the damage before I had it professionally repaired so you can see just how minor the damage was. See the before and after pics.
