1973 VW Thing Excellent Condition Type 181 This is a beautiful, turn key, ready to drive, 1973 VW THING that has been fully restored and is in excellent condition. Comes with the hard top and soft top. Both in new condition. It has full, professionally padded roll bar. All side curtain windows are glass, not plastic. All the windows and doors can be removed and the front windshield folds down for open beach riding. It has a great aux. heater unit under the front hood that provides plenty of heat in the passenger compartment to keep you super warm on cold days. There are approximately 15,000 miles on a completely rebuilt motor. 1600cc with new carb and performance exhaust. All new tires, less than 100 miles on them. New cv joints and brakes with new master cylinder. Wheel bearings just packed, new oil cooler just installed, etc. Maintenance records included. This is a very nice, super reliable, well maintained VW Thing. It had a single owner from 1973 until 2012 and one owner since then. The interior is in excellent condition, no rust, the floor boards are solid. The transmission and clutch are smooth and shift like new. All the lights, radio, windshield wipers and fire extinguisher operate fine. The engine does not smoke, it starts, stops and runs beautifully.
