Vehicle Detail
PLEASE READ THIS IN ITS ENTIRETY: I purchased this 2002 Toyota Camry from my neighbor in July 2011, when it had 68,000 miles on it, for my daily commute from the Shore to Trenton. It is now at 271,492 and I am selling it because I want to buy a new car rather than fix it. I am the owner and have a free and clear, clean New Jersey title in hand. Please view all photos, as they are part of the description that follows. As I am not a mechanic, please be mindful that I am describing the condition of the vehicle to the best of my knowledge and ability. I am selling it as is, with no warranty expressed or implied. Please submit all questions prior to bidding and view all photos. These are the good points of the vehicle: All four tires match and still have about half of the tread on them, and there are two full-size spare tires. It has all four matching hubcap covers. The sunroof/moonroof is perfect and functional, because it was replaced several years ago as part of a recall. It has a clean and dry interior. All the seatbelts work. All the leather upholstery is pretty good condition, with no stains, cracks, or tears. The headliner is clean and firm.(Our home and our vehicles are smoke-free and pet-free.) All the windows go up and down as they ought, and there are no cracks in any of the glass, nor leaks. All the interior and exterior lights work, as do the front windshield wipers and the mirrors. The front and rear defrosters work, as does the remote trunk. Its OEM radio with CD player and cassette is fully functional, as are the two sets keys, remote fobs, and valet key. Each door, and each door's power window and door lock work. The cruise control works as it ought. The heater and air conditioner still work like new – hot is way hot, and cold is way cold. It has a fairly new radiator, condenser, headlights and other front-end items installed two years ago after an accident. Please see the photo for the description of all of those new parts. We see no leaks on the ground when the car is moved from its usual parking spot. It doesn’t make any funny sounds or have any odd vibrations. The frame is straight, even with two front fender-benders over the years. It starts up easily. All of the owner’s manuals are intact. I have had the oil changed and the tires rotated regularly. It was done many times at All American Ford, Point Pleasant because they are very close to our home, and they service any make or model vehicle. I do not see rust bubbles around the perimeter of any of the four wheel wells or on the doors. (There is a 1.5 inch area of rust which has been on the front pillar since I bought it; it has remained the same size. Please see the photo.) Other than a scrap to the front passenger bumper and a dimple in the rear passenger bumper, the rest of the paint and exterior have the normal scratches and dings consistent with a 16 year-old commuter vehicle. (Please see the photos. I did not have time today to take it to the carwash; thus, it has road grime and bird residue.) These are the bad points of the vehicle. There could be additional issues, of which I am unaware: It did not take it NJ inspection this month, because the check engine light is on. Please see the photo of the codes taken at AutoZone and the descriptions of what they may mean in terms of repair. It takes 10W40 oil now, and it does need a couple of extra quarts of oil between oil changes. The gentleman at AutoZone seems to think that Rotella may be a better choice to slow down its thirst for oil. It takes much longer now to fill up the gas tank – the handle on the gas nozzle has to be set to slow, or held by hand, otherwise it pops off well before the tank is full, and repeatedly has to be restarted until the tank is full. This can be annoying if you are in a hurry, or embarrassing if you are in line at Costco gas. I fill up when the gas gauge is between one quarter to one half full to minimize my time at the pump. It has a fairly new windshield, as it was replaced two years ago due to a large crack caused by a rock on the 195. Unfortunately, it now has two new chips at the far top, but they are not visible from inside the car, as they are located behind the rearview mirror. (Please see the photo taken from the outside.) It’s due for an oil change this month, and I am told that although it starts up easily, the battery is at end of life, and will need to be replaced soon. Transaction Details: There is no reserve. I will not consider any transaction outside of eBay, and for this reason, it is not being listed locally. Within 24 hours of the close of the auction, the winning bidder must make a deposit of $100.00 via PayPal. The remaining balance may also be paid via PayPal prior to pick-up, or the balance of the payment may be presented at the time of pick-up with a United States Postal Service (Post Office) money order or cash. I will sign over the title in exchange only for the full payment of the winning bid amount. I will meet the buyer at a mutually agreeable pick-up time at our home in Brick, NJ. The buyer must remove the vehicle entirely off our property within 48 hours of my signing over the title, and the entire transaction, including removal, must conclude on or before Sunday, April 15th. The miles on the odometer will remain as listed, as I will not be driving it with an expired inspection sticker. Thank you for viewing my listing.
