The red paint is poor and the clear coat is peeling in multiple areas. The car just had a $1,080 service completed at Advanced Imports VW in Tucker, GA. The service included a new gas tank, fuel filter and lines. New brakes and transmission repair. The car has the rare auto-stick transmission. It's basically a stick shift without the clutch pedal. I just spent over $500.00 with jbugs.com buying a $250.00 convertible cover that has not been installed, headlight trim ring, rear brake light, weatherstripping that has not been installed, New visors that have not been installed. 4 new floor mats.I have ordered a hood emblem that is on back order with jbugs.com. The convertible top and fixed back glass are in good condition. The headliner is the original white and in poor but usable condition. The car starts right up, runs and drives. The car has rust areas under the car and under the paint. There is rust on the pan of the car, the wheel wells, the spare tire nose area and by the battery.The original convertible top leaked and rotted out the pan under the driver's side backseat. The floor pan in the back behind the driver has been replaced and a new pan was riveted in place. The passenger side rear pan was riveted over the original floor. The headlights do not work. They did but I haven't tracked down the issue.The car has the original AM radio that does not work. The front face plate is cracked. The clock does not work. The speedometer worksThe blinkers workThe gas gauge worksThe dash pad is cracked by the speaker opening.I have a newer antenna but it has not been installed. The car starts right up, runs and drives. I bought the car to use with my wife, 13 year old and 11 year old. It's a great car to put the top down and enjoy the spring. Driving the car makes everyone smile.
