Vehicle Detail
This is a 1998 Honda RS250R that has never been near a racetrack, and I have owned since new, with original purchase from GPSTAR. The paint is correct for Honda factory paint scheme of that year. Some background: At one time I was an RS125R rider Willow Springs and always thought I would graduate to a 250, so I kept this bike in dry storage for year after year, thinking "maybe next year the 250". After some time to reflect, I realized two things: 1. I am a very slow rider, probably the worst ever, even at 125cc. 2. a 250cc Honda RS250R such as this is a violent high-powered motorcycle that should be in the hands of a professional rider -- not me. The bike remained in dry storage. Has never been ridden on a track. Has maybe 2-miles on a completely illegal Sunday morning street ride. Note: over the years, I have owned nearly 400 (yes, four hundred) exotic race and gray japanense motorcycles. Try to stump me, I doubt you can: Honda NR750, Aprlia RSW, Honda NSR500 Shell Advance, Cagiva 500, Honda RC30, RC45, NC30, NC35, NR400, Yamaha FZR400, FZR1000, FZ750 ... it's just not possible to list even a partial count ... Britten #8, EL Kawasaki KZ1000R, Yam R7, Hon RC51, Ducati MH900E, Duc 916, 996, 999, 999r, 748R ... Aprilia RS250, Cagiva Mito 125, HON RS125R, Yamaha YZR500 factory GP, While many of these bikes have been traded or sold, I always kept the RS250 pictured in this listing, it is a beautiful motorcycle and terrific conversation piece. Fast forward to today: I now have a delightful 4-year old son, and this year we're going to start riding dirt, so my dreams of being a GP racer are finally coming to an end, as I head down this week to the dealer to pick up a CRF50 and CRF250. To make room for my new goal in life which is to spend as much time as I can with my 4-year old boy, this RS is now for sale. Note, if you are a religious person and want to avoid the foulest four-letter words you ever heard direct in your email, do not offer $7500 or other random amounts. If you don't know what this bike is, don't mess around bidding for 2 reasons, first a 250cc GP two-stroke will kill you, and second, well, there is no second reason needed.
