Vehicle Detail
SAAB enthusiasts will appreciate this rare car. This is a 2 owner vehicle of which I am the second owner. I Purchased this vehicle in August of 2013 from a dealer who received it in on trade from the first owner and have operated it since as a 2nd/3rd car for my family. I am a SAAB enthusiast - this is the 5th and final SAAB that i have owned since the early 2000's. I had 3 Viggens and 2 Aero's and I have closely maintained all of them over the years. Selling this last one for several reasons - we have 3 cars so we can only drive 2 at a time and now my wife just got a new company car so now we have 4! Terrible problem to have but we have a 2 car garage and don't really have room to shuffle all these cars around... Soooo we need to make room now. I do very much love this car and it is in great condition driveable anywhere anytime and I have spared no expense maintaining it. Color/Trim/Options:This Silver SAAB has the sports package (sport chassis, sport seats and metallic interior trim) and Visibility Package (xenon headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and rear park assist). The deep high performance bolstered black leather seats are heated and have the light grey accents - many of the 9-5's from this year have the white seats with grey accents and they stain over time and look pretty bad. These black seats look great - barely any signs of wear are noticeable. It also has the roof rails to mount cross bars to - looks great with my silver Thule pod on top and makes for a great road trip setup. It has a sunroof and rear cargo cover. Another nice feature is the cargo rails in the hatch floor to die down cargo with movable hooks. The windows are tinted all around for privacy and protection from the sun. The 200-watt Harman Kardon system produces outstanding ‘concert hall’ sound through a total of 8 speakers, including a single sub-woofer, an AV plug on the face to allow plugging your phone/ipod device to stream music. It also has the stock 6 CD changer which is fully functional and all steering wheel controls work. There are no broken switches or trim pieces inside. Car also has the HID headlights with the washer jets that spray when the windshield washer sprayers spray. A molded rear cargo mat is also included. Maintenance:Whatever has needed repair or replacement has been done with OE, OE Equivalent, or high performance aftermarket premium parts. Oil changes with mobil 1 synthetic every 3-5k miles. I have a lifetime wheel alignment with my shop and at every oil change, a tire rotation and alignment is done. I have maintenance records all the way back to the day I purchased this car. I do not have documentation of service history beforehand, but was able to contact the previous owner and discussed its care in detail as well. Just did rear brakes, tire rotation, oil change, alignment. I've changed the tranny fluid three times now since I've owned it. Notable Recent Service Items: Adjustable Rear Lower Control Arms - I installed these control arms which provide camber adjustment that the stock ones do not. This allows the rear wheels to always be aligned properly and ensure even tire wear. Fuel Pump Assembly - The gas gauge was not reading properly but was running fine. The gauge is in the tank on the pump and to replace it the tank must be dropped. Some will go through all this labor and only replace the float that measures the fuel level. I had the entire fuel pump assembly replaced this year with a complete brand new bosch unit. 4 Wheel Alignment - image from the beginning of February 2018 that all 4 wheels have been brought into spec. Oil Trap O-Ring - There is an o-ring that can leak a small amount of oil that can be very annoying. I replaced this O-ring with a larger one and sealed it so it should not happen anymore. New pair of tires - Just recently had 2 of the tires replaced under warranty by Tirerack Transmission Fluid Flush - Just performed my 3rd fluid exchange since owning the vehicle and this time used Valvoline Full Synthetic ATF. Shifts great - smooth, and beautiful shifts. Wish I had used it on previous flushes as I always prefer full synthetic over conventional fluids Other Notable Service Items: Throttle Body - was replaced with new OEM unit when i first acquired the car Cooling System - T-Stat, coolant valve, temp sensor, coolant hoses, coolant flush within past 2 years Exhaust - new muffler with OEM exhaust tip installed PCV System Replaced - complete system - oil trap & hoses were replaced since owning it Vacuum Hoses Replaced - complete system - replaced several times Condition:This car is tight and drives great. Being down South in NC, the weather is kind to cars, but It has been garaged pretty much the entire time we've owned it. Exterior is 9/10 - shows some marks and nicks here and there from normal usage of a 12 year old car, but I'd say way better than average condition as i have taken extremely good care of the car and it was used gently mostly by my wife. I maintained it extremely well and garaged it, but we used it and didn't worship it... The Engine runs and idles smoothly with no smoke or ticking noises. Turbo boosts up to full boost smoothly and the car pulls great. Car tracks straight and brakes straight with no knocks, rattles, creaks, etc.. Matching BFG Comp 2 Sport AS all around with the upgraded wider 235/45/17 size tires on the 17" x 7.5" alloy wheels are in great shape. Tranny shifts smoothly. The car is very tight, solid and handles great - it's very maneuverable and is a joy to drive on the highway. The deep bolstered seats hold you firmly in place yet are still very comfortable on long trips. These cars are performance oriented and for people who enjoy driving a sporty performance car. Been driving it recently and have really enjoyed driving it again. Features & Specs:See detailed information on features and specs from the 2006 SAAB Press Release when they launched this vehicle. http://saabworld.org/2006-saab-9-5-usa-press-release/ What I like about this car:Functionally, one of the main things that differentiates this car from some other euro wagons is that it is front wheel drive. Many european wagons in this size are either all wheel drive or rear wheel drive. With front wheel drive you get fuel efficiency and great all weather performance. Another thing I always loved about this car and my other SAABs was that they're very uncommon, you just don't see them - they're not generic fleet cars. Terms:Selling to the continental USA only. I am a private individual and not a dealer so there is no warranty included - the car is sold as is. Interested parties are encouraged to view the car beforehand or have the car inspected by a mechanic. I can have the car brought to a mechanic shop of your choice within a reasonable/convenient distance. If you fly in from out of town, I am not far from RDU airport. If you were to arrange truck transport I can provide a convenient location for the truck to come pick up and load the vehicle. Payment in cash or certified check from Bank of America only. Title in Hand Please contact me with any questions Additional pictures and maintenance records available upon request I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime if the vehicle is sold through alternate means Thank you for considering my car.
