Once a bid is placed the auction will run its course. So, dont wait to bid, it may not be available. This is a pretty solid 1974 Honda CB550F that I had intentions on restoring and I just havent gotten around to it. I had the carbs professionally rebuilt and ultra-sonic cleaned. Theres a new battery and new throttle cables. I got the bike started and rode it around to make sure it went through all the gears and thats a far as I went. The bike starts and seems to run well. I would consider it a project of sorts as it hasnt been completely gotten ready for the road. The front brake like most that sit up of this era honda is not working. The headlight doesnt seem to be coming on but I havent even checked the bulb. The blinkers light up but dont always flash. The exhaust has rust issues as seen in the pictures. The tank is clean inside and only has small blemishes on it. The chrome does have pitting. Some of this will clean up and some will not. The tires are old and will need to be replaced due to age. The seat foam feels good but the cover is starting to get a bit stiff. All in all its a pretty clean bike and well on its way to being back on the road. The only leak I saw looked like it was coming from the shifter shaft seal. The bike will need a good going over prior to being considered roadworthy , but the hard part of getting it running is done. The bike is being sold as is, where is.I do have an open and ready to assigned to the new owner Illinois title for the bike. A local inspection is recommended and welcomed.
