Vehicle Detail
The Wes Cooley Replica was a limited production superbike produced to celebrate the victories of the Wes Cooley / Yoshimura team. This model was produced for two years only - 1979 and 1980. The 1980 version was the preferred model as it was the only GS1000 produced with factor rear-set pegs. This makes the bike impossible to "fake", unlike the 1979 version. Compared to the 1979 model, it had electronic ignition (vs points), 32mm carbs and larger intake ports (vs 26mm carbs), slotted brake rotors (vs solid). There was an estimated 700 or so of these bikes imported to the US. This particular bike is tricked out with tons of the very best aftermarket parts. This is the bike you would have built if you wanted the trickest ride on the road. Aftermarket parts include: Aftermarket aluminum rims (wider than stock wheels) with wider than stock tiresYoshimura replica STAINLESS exhaust systemDyna S ignition and matching Dyna coilsBraided stainless brake linesAftermarket custom rear-set pegsPowder coated and polished engine covers Rebuild included: Fresh top end rebuild with new OEM rings, gaskets, valve job and valve adjustmentPowder coated frameAll new paint and decalsMobil 1 oil change and Fram filterNew batteryBike is advertised on other sites and I reserve the right to end the auction early. Please ask any questions before the auction ends. I will work with you or your shipper to make pickup easy. May deliver to the Northeast for a fee. 860-302-9224 (text is best) or email. On Feb-28-18 at 04:13:27 PST, seller added the following information: It should be noted that because the factory rear-sets were replaced with aftermarket ones and the rear passenger pegs were removed, this bike would take more effort to restore to original than a non-modified bike would be.
