Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Up for auction is our 2000 Chevy Express Explorer Van Company conversion van with the 2001 Explorer “Limited SE” with top of the line “X Series” conversion package which we ordered brand new from the Explorer factory in May of 2001. We are the ORIGINAL and ONLY owners of this beautiful van. We've only put 83,425 miles on it since new!! A bit of history…this van was built at the GM assembly plant in Wentzville, Missouri and originally delivered to the Colorado Custom Center in Cortez, Colorado as an “incomplete chassis” which is the term used by GM, Ford, Dodge, etc. for vans or other chassis headed to van converters. Colorado Custom Center was a van conversion company that went out of business shortly after receiving this van. Explorer Van Company, through Chevrolet, bought the Colorado Custom inventory of vans and had them trucked to their facility in Warsaw, Indiana. We came to own this van after seeing one similar to this at the Denver Auto Show in April of 2001. We worked with the Explorer sale representative directly and custom ordered the van through him and Classic Chevrolet in Grapevine, Texas utilizing the 2000 van chassis that they had in inventory as GM had an additional rebate available on the chassis. The van was built using Explorer’s then new 2001 conversion “Limited SE” package with the top of the line “X” package added and had it drop shipped directly to us in Colorado. The original window sticker, ordering information, ALL maintenance records (since day one) are included with the purchase if you want them. All of the original owner’s manuals to include every optional accessory have a manual that will go with the sale. We have used this van gently over its life and hate to part with it, but we simply don’t drive it anymore and know someone out there could use this vehicle for their family. Many of the miles are highway miles as we would take vacations using the van. Floor protection was always in place (in the form of front and rear plastic floor mats and plastic runners). It has never been smoked in. The interior is immaculate for a vehicle of this type. It has always been garaged kept, washed and waxed regularly and a strict maintenance regime followed including the use of synthetic oils & a KN air filter. Given our dry climate in Western Colorado, vehicles don’t rust and as such, top and bottom, this van is in pristine condition (see photos)! So here are the specifics on most of the equipment on the van (taken from the order form) - a general description is listed above: Ø Limited “X” Package – includes the “Medallion Series” wrap around ground effects with special “X” series striping - painted in a 1995 Cadillac color called "Antelope" - van color is "Summit White"; Ø American Racing aluminum rims; Ø Billet Steel Grill & Chrome Tipped Exhaust options; Ø Fold down front license plate holder makes into a step; Ø Fog lights; Ø Power Reclining Driver & Passenger Seats with power lumbar air bladders and low profile headrests; Ø Wood Dash and Trim Kit as well as high gloss real wood accents throughout; Ø Leather and Solid Wood Tilt Steering Wheel Ø Auto Dimming Rear View Mirror with built in outside air temperature readout and compass; Ø Center ice chest with heated and cooled cup holders (Explorer Van mugs included); Ø “Vista” fabric window shades on all windows behind the front doors; Ø Rear Radio system with CD & VCR and plugs for DVD/gaming systems & headphones; Ø AM/FM/CD/Cassette Radio in front; Ø Blaupunkt Speakers (flush except for speaker grills/covers) throughout the van (front dash & doors, ceiling and rear mounted “acoustical” speakers) with “Sensurround TV Sound System”; Ø LCD Flip Down Flat Panel Television (13.3”); Ø ProAir Central Rear Air Conditioning and Heating System with adjustable ceiling mounted vents; Ø 3 Way Power Sofa Bed (folds flat) with cargo net; Ø Full Leather Interior – all seats and sofa bed; Ø Pop Up Dark Tinted Sun/Moon Roof; Ø ProRac Roof Rack System capable; Ø “Ultra Vista” Flat Glass Dark Tinted Windows with opening vent windows; Ø “Halo” style ceiling and valance lighting system with flush mounted individual reading lamps; Ø Wall mounted, built in vacuum, air compressor and flashlight – in rear cargo area; Ø WeatherTech front window deflectors; Ø Heavy Duty Trailering Equipment Package including transmission cooling system; Ø Electric Trailer brakes (the hitch as multiple plug ins for different style plugs) – NOTE: We only towed with this vehicle less than a dozen times! Specifications (per Chevrolet): Ø VIN: 1GBFG15R6Y1202273 Ø Make (Manufacturer): Chevrolet Ø Model year: 2000 Ø Manufactured in: United States (North America) Ø Sequential number: 202273 Ø Brake - front: Disc Ø Brake - rear: Drum Ø Brake system: 4-Wheel ABS Ø Cargo volume: 267.30 cu. ft. / 7569.1 liter Ø Consumption in the city: 14 miles/gallon / 16.8 liters/100 km Ø Consumption on the highway: 18 miles/gallon / 13.1 liters/100 km Ø Driveline: RWD with 3.73 Ratio and Locking Rear Differential Ø Engine type: 5.7L V8 OHV 16V 255 HP Ø Fuel tank: 31.00 gallon / 117.3 liter Ø Ground clearance: 6.70 in / 17.0 cm Ø GVW: 7,100 lb. It has less than 1,000 miles on the tires. We had it completely tuned up with new plug wires at around 50,000 miles. The water pump was replaced with a new NAPA water pump. Early on, we had the rear springs upgraded from what came with the van as a ½ ton chassis to ¾ ton springs for added durability and ride. The ride height stayed the same and it fits in a standard size garage! The van has a few minor issues that need to be noted as follows: The top of the “wood-look” appliqué surrounding the instrument cluster has a small place where there has been some delamination of the “plastic wood”; three of the numerical buttons on the dash mounted factory radio don’t light up when the headlights are on; there’s something loose with the instrument cluster that is not allowing the “daytime running” light symbol to come and causing some of the gauges to “flutter” on occasion – it appears to be a contact issue – we just haven’t had time to take the cluster out; a fuel injector sticks once in a while on start up making a tapping/ticking sound (a mechanic told me that it’s because the van hasn’t been driven) but it goes away after a few minutes and never shows up again unless the van sits for a long time; there are a couple of minor “small cracks” on the edge of the plastic valance at the left rear wheel opening which can be fixed by any body shop (we do have a replacement panel and tape striping which we would include for a nominal charge as we bought it and never put it on the van) and a small (1/2”) “crack” at the top of the bumper cover by the right rear door. Outside of some minor scratches inside and out, that’s all that we know to be wrong with the van.We have a clear Colorado title. If you come to us for pickup, we can go to the County Courthouse and take care of all paperwork in very short order and get you a temporary tag to transport the vehicle. One last item of note…we have a portable Sirius/XM radio and antenna (seen in the interior photos mounted above the driver’s seat with the antenna on the roof above the windshield). This was a gift from our son and DOES NOT GO WITH THE VAN! Please review the condition and any condition notes for the exact condition of this item. All pictures are of the actual item you’re bidding on. If you would like more photos or photos of specific things, please let us know and we will email them to you via eBay’s messaging center! We have done our utmost to accurately describe this van. We will amend the listing if we have left anything out. Shipping is the buyer’s responsibility. eBay has quite a few options available to you. The van is available for local pickup too. IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION OR CONCERN, PLEASE ASK BEFORE BIDDING ON THIS VEHICLE! We would appreciate your positive feedback! If there is a problem with the item or with our handling of this purchase, PLEASE LET US KNOW THROUGH EBAY! We cannot help you with a problem if you don’t tell us about it! We would appreciate it if you do not leave any negative or neutral feedback without contacting us to work out the issue. It is unethical and unkind to do so and is a violation of eBay rules! If we make a mistake, we’ll fix it! Please pay in a timely fashion and with the methods described in the listing! Thank you and happy bidding! Ugh! So, for the record, I'm correcting the listing to show that the tires have 3,690 miles on them vs. the 1,000 or I thought they had. Should have checked my file more closely. My apologies. The following maintenance items are in response to a question asked: Power Steering Flush - 62,894 miles Brakes (all the way around) - 62,938 miles Transmission Flush - 64,409 miles Plugs/Wires/PCV (All replaced) - 64,440 miles (vs. the appx. 50,000 I put in the listing) Water Pump Replaced - 77,077 miles New Tires (P255/70-15) - 79,735 miles (3,690 miles as of today are on them) The color of the ground effects package is called "Light Antelope" vs. "Antelope" The van also includes the front hood bug deflector which we had installed along with deer whistles on the front bumper I hope this helps!
