i listed my 1966 chevy van for sale so i figure i might as well list this one too.. i and 30 collector cars but moved to costa rica.. had two children so i sold most of them off.. no time now...i kept several.. but they sat in storage for 3 years...long story on my listing for the 1966 chevy van i just posted....i just used this to take kids for ice cream.. used to rent dealer plates when i had my big collection so i never registered it... I bought it from a US Marine in hartford CT. it has department of defense stickers on it... he brought it home from Italy where he was stationed.. I have all the military import papers...he imported it but right after he got home here they offered him his job back as a civilian at like ten times the pay so he moved back... After i bought it someone told me the engine was worth a lot of money.. the owner told me he had a larger engine put in and the head cover said Abarth.. but it turns out it is a larger fiat 126 engine with just a Abarth head cover.... The thing was mint new big convertible sun roof and interior...i drove it and parked it 3 years ago...now i don't know weather to find someone to go thru it....and spend money to make it a 10-15000 like all the others for sale or just sell it.. Like i said i don't have any free time.. I prefer someone local as i don't have time to answer tons of questions.. i listed my van last night on craigslist and got 50 emails i cant get to....I got a picture of it 4 years ago when i was driving it...it has two sets of rims and tires ...one is a set of like ,motor scooter slicks..and i got a set of originals rims and tires...i just took some pictures of it sitting in the barn...i was planning on getting it running and cleaning it up this spring but since I'm listing my van i figure i would just list this also...I am trying to find someone local to work on it that knows them.. and figure out if i should invest in it but i don't have time and paying some mechanic to try and figure out what he's looking at doesn't make sense so i all just list it for now....there is no rust maybe minimal surface from sitting in a barn for 3 years.. but 6 years ago it was spotless so there is no major rust anywhere even under the battery were there all rust...i will take some videos and pictures soon i found these on my phone... I'm not a computer guy and my macbook is so full it won't except anymore videos .. i have to get a friend to set up a back up hard drive and clean me some more space... Like i said i am hoping to find someone local.. i don't have time to be selling i listed my van last night and got 50 emails so don't be upset if i miss and email.. if your local or really serious i will talk on phone....and i figure now that its been sitting for 3 years it won't loose value if i just let it keep sitting till i can find someone who knows them and could go thru it reasonably for me.....
