Vehicle Detail
1969 Mercury Station Wagon - Colony Park model. All original. (Except for routine maintenance type items). 390 2V V-8. Starts up. Drives well. No reserve. This great wagon has a ton of possibility. You could drive it as-is, hot-rod it, rat-rod it or whatever else you might choose to do. There aren't many of these classic wagons left anymore. Most were sent to the crusher or were used in demolition derbys. I have priced this one very fairly and with no reserve! Cars are only original once. Grab this one while you can and relive your youth. Recent work: Carburetor was rebuilt. Gas tank was repaired and coated. New sending unit. New battery. New motor mounts. New plugs. Transmission service done. New fuel pump. All new gas rubber lines, etc. Interior is in good condition. (For being 50 years old). Roll up windows. This car was sold new in Minnesota and was taken good care of throughout the years. Original window sticker, original owners manual and original floor mats included. Working hideaway headlamps, hidden pop-up seats in the rear. Very little rust. (See pics). As you can see, the wood panel stickers on the car are faded. (Obviously, as they appear to be original). Replacements can be bought online for under $200. The paint under them should be very good. The exterior would probably look nicer with a good wash and wax job. There are a few issues with the back tailgate. It does open without an issue. However, the back glass does not currently roll down and the door does not go into lay-down mode. These might be easy fixes but I am not sure. A/C, cruise control and interior lights are all there but not currently working. Leaks a little bit of oil and transmission fluid. Smokes a little bit on start up. The moldings do have some marks from hail but the thick old steel body appears to be fine. This car is a ton of fun to drive. It is almost 18 feet long and just floats down the road. It is like being on a sofa while driving. :-) Please remember that this car is not close to perfect. Please know that it is 50 years old and appears as such. To make it a daily driver, it will take a little bit of work. Also, before I took it on a long road trip, I would want a mechanic to fully look it over. As the brochure said in 1969, 'if Lincoln Continental made a station wagon, this would be it'. This is a cool vehicle and gets lots of 'thumbs up'. Please serious bidders only. Please do not waste my time. Ask any questions that you might have. I want the new owner of this classic to be happy with their purchase. Check my feedback. If you have the car shipped, I will be glad to meet the truck driver and help to get it loaded.
