Up For A No Reserve Auction: 1962 VW Beetle RagtopThis Bug is very clean unrestored well kept daily summertime "for me in the northeast" cruiser.. Originally a Tennessee carGarage kept Engine:Good running ,1641cc engine , runs strong , engine has been refreshed/built in 1/2014, new loaded 1641 jugs, new after market heads , new seals , gaskets.. oil pump, (no major leaks , it's still a VW) around 10k miles since refresh.. newer exhaust with j tube style header (heater box deletes) installed.. ect. Transmission: Updated 1967 style transaxle removed refreshed/resealed, new gaskets, axle boots, clutch kit ,ect..(Also completed 1/2014) Brakes: New Air Kewld -Bad Series front /rear complete street stage II- 4 wheel disc brake setup , twin piston Wilwood calipers up front. Single pistons out back with e - Brake , drilled rotors , all new wheel bearings, wide 5 lug pattern hats ( can change lug pattern just by buying/changing hats, see air kewld site ) , upgraded master cylinder, complete stainless steel brake lines, ect.. Suspension:Front: 6 inch narrowed beam with height adjusters, 2 inch drop spindles, ( up to 6 inches of adjustability ) at max drop it sits about an inch off the ground and still has a descent ride.Newer steering box ,king pins, ect.. Rear: Total custom, Atomwerk lowered adjustable racing spring plates, with roller bearing pivots, can be adjusted from about 2 inches below stock to scrape the ground low, new lowered kyb shocks, and more .. Wheels/Tires:Fronts- new , less than 500 miRear- like new approx 1000 mi I run it without hubcaps ( love the look ) , so I installed em on one side for your convenience in the pics, ( I do have the 4 hub caps ) Body: What can I say , the body is in super shape for the year, solid ,solid , it's an original sliding rag top car (not a graft) , new Ragtop , awesome rare Safari pop up windshield, pop out quarter windows checkered/plaid Samba style seats , new carpet, solid floors, repaint with a single stage paint job (I'd give it a 7) , at some point it got new heater channel /rockers (pretty decent job), although there are no heater boxes installed , would just need boxes with levers for heat and defrost . ( all cables and controls are still in place ) .. I know I'm missing a ton of stuff ... if your a VW nut , you know I can go on an on ... lol It's a good solid runner, doesn't need a thing to run and cruise your strips for a good long time .. Please look at the pictures , all the pictures, before asking questions , thank you The only thing It doesn't need ,but could use ( has the original in place ), the headliner, it was always on my mind to replace it , I never got around to looking into a replacement , but /because when the top is open you don't ever notice it ...
