Vehicle Detail

This is an original 1977 BMW R100S 30,518 milesColor: fresh Alaska Blue with hand-painted pinstripes Clear California title in hand.California registration is up to date. Pictures say it all. If you are a fan of classic BMW airheads, then you know what you're looking at. 1977 was the last year without the more stringent emissions restrictions. Ohlins rear shocks3/4 Solo seat (unpainted) includedTrickle charger leads installedReynolds rear rack installedThrottlemeister bar end weights/cruise control installedProgressive front springs (brand new never installed) includedBMW Multivario tank bag includedFarley sidestand (never removed the stock sidestand either)Clymer manual included Hate to let this beautiful bike go but I just don't ride it enough, and I just bought a car and need the extra space in the garage. This bike has been garage kept all the time. If you are local to the California Central Coast, I encourage you to come by and see the bike in person. Test ride is available if you bring cash as collateral. This bike is destined to go up in value. Its hard to find these in unmolested original condition. This one is stock with exception of the Ohlins shocks. Original shocks included but they look their age. In the era of 'cafe racers' and 'vintage' and 'retro-styled' bikes, here is your chance to own the real deal. And the 1977 model is the most desirable of the 70s models since it was the last year of US imports not affected by the newer more stringent emissions restrictions. My personal experience with other airheads is 78 R100/7, 88 R100RS (I've owned this model on two different occasions), 92 R100GSPD and I find this one noticably quicker than any of the others. I realize this is anectdotal evidence, but when I rode this for the first time, it just felt more responsive and up to 80mph on the highway it accelerated faster than any of the other airheads I owned. It handled well at highway speeds. The Ohlins shocks suck up the bumps very nicely making for a smooth ride. I bought these shocks new and had them valved for a 180lb rider and to take an additonal 20lb of luggage in to consideration. The box for the Ohlins and the wrench to adjust comes with the bike as well. I've added some pics to show the paint is still shiny and not dull under the tank bag. Also small less than 1cm paint chip on right side of seat cowl just above the rear suspension. Bike was professionally painted Alaska Blue (ann early K-bike paint code) about 3years ago by previous owner. Paint looks really nice shiny metallic in the light and has a nice flat appearance in the shade. Brand new Tygon fuels lines installed just five months ago. Please see my feedback and buy with confidence. I HAVE THIS BIKE LISTED LOCALLY ALSO SO I RESERVE THE RITE TO END THIS LISTING EARLY IF SOMEONE SHOWS UP WITH CASH IN HAND. THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING.
