Vehicle Detail
For Sale is a 1966 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible. With no spare time to really get into this project, I’ve decided to put the Bonneville up for sale. With 16,229 built in 66, they remain a nice investment and a car of great appreciation. NADA Classic currently shows the high book on the 66 Bonneville Convertible at $50,450; they are truly highly desirable cars. This one is finished in white with red interior, all seats door panels and belts in place. The car was optioned with electric windows, electric antenna with passenger side rear quarter placement and speaker reverberator. The car appears to be an original bucket seat car and does have front bucket seats. The convertible roof frame and components are in place and appear to be in good condition. The side window glass appears to be original and in good condition. Ignition and doors are keyed alike and operable. Trunk key operates cylinder. The brakes and wheel cylinders have each been replaced along with serval brake lines. The exhaust system (duals) are fairly new. The trunk floor needs replaced as does the rear passenger side rear seat pan. The car will need additional metal work during the cars full restoration, frame may be questionable. The car appears to have been painted. I have spent no time attempting to get the motor started as I was planning on putting a date code correct motor back in the vehicle during the restoration as the motor is not the original. The motor does crank over. The motor appears to be a 400 or 455. Photo of vehicle body data plate has been posted for buyers convenience for decoding vehicle for additional details if otherwise not mentioned above. On Dec-06-17 at 14:56:08 PST, seller added the following information: MOTOR: A few viewers have posed the question as to the motor. I have posted a photo of what appears to be a (WA) on the upper left front of the block. The site "Pontiachunters.com" shows the "WA" as a (1970) 455 / 360hp motor. SPINDLES / DRUM / HUBS: Also, as to the front drums/hubs and spindles; the drums and spindles are in place with rims/tires on the vehicle. (see photo of the car with car cover on it). On Dec-07-17 at 14:50:37 PST, seller added the following information: AUCTION UPDATE: An additional request of late as to the motor has lead to some additional research on the "WA" coding which apparently Pontiac used, at a minimum, on 7 different blocks over a period of time, 1965-1977. While mentioned in the original listing, I do not believe the motor to be original to the vehicle. I do not warrant the engine, its' exact year, displacement nor the horsepower. The following is a list of years the WA coded Pontiac Engines were manufactured: 1965 WA was a 389 / 256 HP 1966 WA was a 389 / 256 HP 1968 WA was a 400 / 290 HP 1969 WA was a 400 / 290 HP 1970 WA was a 455 / 360 HP 1974 WA was a 350 / 155 HP 1977 WA was a 400 / 200 HP MILEAGE: The odometer shows 75,843 miles. I do not warrant the mileage to be correct.
