Vehicle Detail
If you have any questions feel free to contact me after reading the prompt below. More images are available on request Car is sold as is with a clean title in my name Posted is a 1972 Datsun 240z. The vehicle was originally bought at a Wichita, Kansas dealership in 1972 and has remained a Kansas car ever since. I am the 3rd owner of this vehicle. Before my possession the car had been sitting in an air conditioned garage for over 20 years and had only been driven 100 miles during that time period. It has continued to spend most of its time in a garage when not in use. Many features on this car have been maintained and many other have been modified with period correct parts. Many Receipts and documentation going back to 1972, since it was purchased from the dealership, will be included. This 240z currently has 76,800 documented miles on the body and is a running and driving car. The motor, which was switched to a later model l-26, to meet my power goals, has been rebuilt and modified and has just finished its break in at 1000 miles. Prior to my ownership the car had gone through a professional repaint in Datsun 918 orange and some previous body work had been done to repair the floor boards. The car performs fantastically and was mainly used as my weekend vehicle but has also seen regular driving so it is reliable enough to make a good daily driver. No significant rust is visible on the car. 1.) Engine: Has been gone through and shows well. Starts, runs, and idles great. Hooked up to a 5 speed manual with no play and shifts smooth . Engine bay appears to show a little wear in some areas on the paint which is understandable after 45 years. Valve cover and velocity stacks polished and shining. Weber carburetors tuned for spring and run good but may need to be readjusted for the winter. l26 (p30 block, e88 head) 10.5:1 high compression motor with 1000 miles 79 280zx close ratio 5 speed Flat top pistons Mild competition cam (270 duration)Minor Head work and completely new hardware kit (valves, spring,...etc)40 dcoe triple webers (velocity stacks and filters included)Mallory distributor Electric fuel pumpAluminium radiatorMSA twice pipesMSA headers Stainless hosesNew coilChrome valve cover Billet aluminum oil, brake master coversHigh flow l28et turbo oil pumpl28et turbo fanl28et clutch and flywheel(components and labor add up to over $9000) 2.) Interior: Looks great and relatively unused. All knobs and switches are present and functioning. Headliner is perfect and spare wheel well is free of rust. original seats without any major tears or ware. Everything works except for the clock. Heater blows hot and is great for colder climates.Interior is relatively stock except for the modification below. Momo clutch, gas, and brake pedalsAfter market 5 speed shift knob, and shift bootCloth cover to protect dash from any sun damage. New sound deadening. Heating works, and blower work.Dealer installed A/C compressor has been removed but will be included is sale. All glass is original and seals were replaced when car was painted. Car also has a hidden kill switch in the interior incase of fire or for theft prevention. 3.) Exterior:Professionally painted 918 orangeStaggered custom rims (14x7) on BF goodrich radial T/A Rear: (245, 70, 14), Front: 205, 60, 14)Headlight are upgraded and have integrated 3/4 Halo led's Led's are also hooked up to datsun logo on front grill(just a nice touch)Vehicle is rust free to the best of my knowledge but has had previous rust repair that was professionally done on the floor pans. Underside is quite clean and rust proofed black. Maintenance: Many new parts with receipts documenting nearly all of them. Present issues:Worn bushings and drivers rear wheel bearingReverse light switch malfunctioningDrivers seat belt stickingLocks function but require a bit of force. Broken stud on headersPaint shows well but is not concourse quality so some dents, scratches, and other imperfection are visiblesmall oil leakSlightly rubs rear fenders when taking very tight corners due to large profile tires A number of original parts will be included in the purchase such as the side mirror, and original a/c compressor. Overall this is a rare classic Z in great condition all around... it is well preserved and restored. Awesome weekend cruiser, potential show car, or addition to any collection. This is for anyone looking for a cool, original vintage sports car at a great price. The car is located in Lawrence, KS. Inspections are welcome and encouraged... serious buyers can call me at 7857279868 but no tire kickers please. On Nov-15-17 at 18:07:25 PST, seller added the following information: *update The seat belt no longer sticks and functions as it should. Oil pump gasket has been changed and their is no longer an oil leak. I have an album full of photos depicting non rusted body sections where 240z's usually experience rusting.
