Vehicle Detail

You are invited to bid on a 1967 Triumph Bonneville T120R, matching numbers, lovingly restored, lightly ridden, and well maintained. I’ve owned several Bonnevilles over the years, and in my opinion, 1967 was the peak year for the T120R. In Ian Falloon’s words, it really is “beautiful from any angle.” This one has the aubergine and gold tank from that year. Why am I selling? I’ve had it for 10 years, and now it’s someone else’s turn to enjoy this great, clean bike. It starts on the first kick, idles properly, and runs smoothly through the gears. Everything works as it should. I’ve put 1,033 miles on the rebuilt engine. The bike was originally restored by collector Lon Hudspeth of Norman, Oklahoma. I acquired it in 2007 from Kiernan Cycles in St. Louis, a consignment shop. When I received it, I pulled the engine and had it completely disassembled, gone through, and rebuilt by a trusted Triumph mechanic: James Skinner of Skinner’s Motorcycle Sales and Service in Auburn, Alabama (in business since 1957). Upgrades included a .020 oversize bored barrel with new pistons/rings, valve job with new springs, crankshaft bearings, big end bearings, 20-tooth engine sprocket, new oil pump, primary chain, clutch plates, regulator, and coils, among other things. I installed Pazon electronic ignition. I had the Smith’s speedometer rebuilt (it was broken when acquired, so no idea how many original miles), replaced the control cables, and replaced all the external rubber parts. Recent upgrades include: · Clutch assembly 2015 · New Dunlop K70s 2015 · New Amal carbs 2016 · New battery 2017 I will mail the buyer a copy of the workshop manual, if they don’t already have it. I’ve always considered this a bike to ride rather than to show, and it doesn’t disappoint. Maybe you’ll feel the same way. Full payment is required within 7 days of the close of auction.
