96 Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE This is a nice example of a 1970 BMW 2002. I purchased this car locally from an enthusiast who had it shipped over from New Mexico. It was a very clean but neglected car that did not have any of the typical structural rust issues common on 2002’s. I really didn’t need another 2002 at the time but thought this one was worth saving since it was an early car in mostly original condition. The car runs very well. The engine is the original matching numbers engine for the car. The head had recently been rebuilt and all hoses, water pump, etc had been replaced. A new 32/36 Weber carburetor had also been installed. For the new paint job in the original Granada Red all glass and trim was removed. Once complete a new windshield was installed along with all new weather stripping and seals. The car interior was replaced including new door panels, new seat pads, upholstery and carpet. The suspension has been redone including buishings, shocks, and ball joints. New brakes all around including the brake lines, new exhaust, new tires on original steel wheels with hubcaps, new clutch, brake and clutch master cylinders, slave cylinder, The transmission was originally an automatic but has since been converted to a stock 4-speed manual. There was nothing wrong with the original transmission other than a few leaks. It was just my preference to have a manual. The conversion was completely bolt on using all original parts with no modification required to the car whatsoever. The original transmission and all components will be included if the buyer wants them. A lot of time and care was spent on this car replacing all the wear items and cosmetics . It’s very hard to find an early roundie in this condition that hasn’t been heavily modified. The car has been stored indoors since being painted. The odometer is original to the car and reads about 50,900 miles which may change I do drive the car once or twice a week. This 2002 presents very well but is not a concourse show car so please keep that in mind. I’ve owned several 2002’s over the years and really enjoy these cars.
