Up for auction is my ONE of a kind 1996 Vw GTI with a 1.9 TDI swap out of a 1998 Passat. The conversion was performed professionally by a shop in CT. The engine was swapped with only 51,213 miles on it into the GTI at 250,314 miles. That leaves the engine and transmission with under 75,000 miles on the engine and transmission! Timing belt has been done as well. I have a bunch of receipts for the work that has been performed. The car was bought with the install already performed. It is super fun to drive and very fast! A stage III Malone tune has been performed and rolls coal like a freight train if you want it too. It has a nice loud turbo whistle but is still very quiet. Here is a list of some of the things done to the car. The car averages high 50s-low 60s MPG, its by far the best car you will ever own fuel wise! I have got 62mpg average on a long trip more than once. I don't need to sell it by any means, I just have too many toys and some stuff needs to go. Its been in the family for 3 years or so now and I am moving. Mechanically the car runs like a top! The check engine light will stay on because of the swap. And it does have a small coolant leak that drips very slowly. I was going to replace it but its so small I never bothered. I was told the clutch was upgraded when I bought the car, its been ok till recent and just really needs a stage II or better clutch it slips if you get on the throttle and should be replaced.
