Was originally delivered as a new car to Florida in the United States, later being sold to the second owner in 2011 located in Alberta, Canada. Commemorating the 35th anniversary of Porsche Design, this all black car features a black full leather interior including seats, dashboard, and door trim as well as black Alcantara steering wheel, gear change lever, handbrake grip, and headliner. The DE1 is also fitted standard with the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), 19-inch 911 (997) Turbo wheels with 235/35 ZR 19 front and 265/35 ZR 19 rear tires, unique Porsche Design script on the instrument dials, stainless steel entry plate engraved with “Porsche Design Edition 1”, all-red rear taillights, custom vinyl exterior black-on-black graphics, and a numbered plaque on the glove-box cover. The flat 6 naturally aspirated mid engine layout on the Cayman has experienced a recent lift in popularity as it is now replaced with a turbocharged 4 cylinder for the new models. This example is configured with the 6 speed manual transmission mated to 295hp 3.4-liter flat 6 motor, which would appeal to the driving enthusiast. This car does show an insurance claim on the Carproof report of $13000CAD, which happened on July of 2012 with 48000km (30000 miles) on the clock. The car has traveled another 17000km (10625 miles) after the repairs completely problem free with no evidence of any kind of repair. Most of the cost associated with this repair, was the cost of two left side replacement curbed 997 turbo wheels by Norden Autohaus, an authorized Porsche dealer in Edmonton, Alberta. The car was repaired with all OEM Porsche parts and was aligned after the repairs and met the stringent Porsche specs required by an authorized Porsche dealer. I have a detailed report of the repairs. Recent service includes the replacement of all the tires with new Bridgestone RE050’s, new OEM wheel sensors were also installed.
