Vehicle Detail
FULL original ALL WHITE vinyl top in excellent condition. Not a half top. Not a full brown top. You never ever ever ever ever see white caprice broughams anywhere with a full top unless it's an ugly brown full top. I put an entire container of kiwi Saddle Soap on the vinyl top about a month ago to keep it soft. Full payment due within 3 days. So to complete the sale, the money needs to already be sitting in your account and you need to be able to go to your bank, get a cashiers check, 2 day fedex it to me, and then pick up the car or have it shipped any time after your cashiers check has completely cleared my bank account, usually 1-3 days after depositing it. You can't fly in, hand me a check and drive home the same day is what I'm trying to say. I don't do rubber checks any more, I used to, but not any more. 1989-1990 are the best years for the box body style because they are the only 2 years that were fuel injected. Everything on this car feels good and tight. I feel really confident driving it compared to other old cars where you're always feeling scared something is already wrong with it or you feel like something will break soon. It feels like a tight, really low mile car. Meticulously maintained. The good:Parts replaced in the last 1000 miles:New AC compressor COLD AC.New AC lineNew freonNew 4 Core aluminum Champion radiator $$$New radiator hoses New 180 degree thermostat.New coolantNew oil and filterNew fuel filterNew front brake pads and hardwareNew speedometer cableNew rear brake shoesNew rear brake hardwareNew fiberglass front bumper filler that should last forever $$$New fiberglass rear bumper filler that should last forever $$$New fiberglass rear corner bumper fillers that should last forever $$$New headliner $$$New window tintfuel injected 5.0L 305power everythingCD player with auxOriginal spare tire and cover and jack and tire iron and everything is there.0 cracks in the dashboard. No play in the tilt steering wheel. No leaks at all.Tires are about 80% Except the rear passenger side tire is about 50%Never been smoked in as far as I know. Has a nice clean fresh smell inside without using any air fresheners.Garaged 90% of its life. I have an extra set of new front inner and outer wheel bearings that I'll throw in the trunk. The not so good: A few paint chips on the hood. Cruise control isn't working. 1 hubcap likes to fall off sometimes. I was pretty obsessive and thorough in trying to make my Caprice as nice as possible to last another 20 years. Mechanically extremely sound. If it needed it, I bought it. No expense spared. Roomy, fun vehicle for weekend road trips to pack tons of miles on and keep the mileage low on your other newer cars.I'm a car builder as a hobby. I build cars the way that I want them and then I drive them around for 6-12 months and sell them and start on another car I like.Examples of some of the cars I've built since moving to Arizona over the last 5 years:1) 64 Impala sold $18,250 partially finished (saw the car immediately relisted on here for way more)2) 63 Impala built to 300+ horsepower sold $10,500 partially finished3) 88 mustang sold $7000 (buyer took to a shop afterwards and told them to go over the car to find anything else it needs, they gave him the car back and charged him $0 and said it didn't need anything, he texted me after the sale and told me this and said he was very, very happy with the car and said he is keeping it forever4) '00 camaro sold $8000 (he texted me on the way home thanking me and said he is very, very happy with the car)5) rare light weight 97 black camaro sold $5200 (saw the buyer re-post it for sale on here 3 years later for $5700 and the only repairs he had to do in 3 years was tires and brakes, someone then bought it from him and I saw it re-posted on here for around $10,000)6) 97 green camaro sold $7000 (his wife contacted me after the sale and said husband was very happy with the car and spending a lot of time tinkering with it in the garage)7) 87 cutlass built to 400 horsepower sold $78008) 86 Caprice built to 300 horsepower sold $75009) 98 bonneville built to 300 horsepower sold $5200 (flew in from MN and drove it home to MN and texted me after and said the car performed wonderfully on the drive home and asked me how I know so much about cars10) 1986 Caprice with a 350 built to 300 horsepower with 170,000 miles, faded out bad original paint, with a carb, not fuel injected, not a brougham, not half the car this one is, with 100,000 more miles than this one. Sold for my full $7500 asking price in 2017. I don't buy junk and I don't sell junk. I recently had 6 cars, I've sold 2 in the last couple months. I have 4 remaining. I plan to sell 3 of them. These are likely the last 3 cars I plan to sell to others because it's getting too time and money consuming. This Caprice is 1 of my final 3 cars that I've built that I plan to sell.
