We leased this Mercedes Benz brand new for personal use. This Mercedes was added to our insurance policy which included multiple vehicles. One of our other vehicles was involved in an accident which ultimately resulted in that vehicle being declared a "total loss", our insurance company paid our claim and accidently branded this car a "total loss" which then resulted in the Department Of Motor Vehicles branding the title "SALVAGE". This was brought to our attention over a year after the fact only when the lease was approaching the final months and we were considering buying this car from Mercedes Financial. After some back and forth our insurance company agreed to provide us with a letter stating that this car was NOT a total loss and was never involved in an accident. Once we were able to obtain this letter we decided to go forward with the purchase. I truly believe with some time and if you're able to reach out to the right people the salvage title status can be cleared up. However, since this Mercedes' title is still branded salvage we are selling this car with a California Salvage title. The new owner will receive a letter from the original owner stating that this Mercedes was never involved in any accidents and no insurance claim was ever paid, along with the letter from our insurance company.
