Up for bid is a 1971 Chevy Chevelle yard find. The previous owner stated that the car had no voltage and had been sitting for about two years. I purchased the car and learned that the problem was that it had poor ground. I relocated the ground wire from the battery, installed a hot battery and the car started right up. While the previous owner trying to solve the problem, he replaced the starter, alternator, distributor, new wiring harness under the hood. The car has aftermarket front disk brakes. The car sounds great with the 2.5" pipe with flow master turn downs. This is what I’ve learned about the car: It has a 1965 small block 327 double hump heads,300HP, engine code HF, Edelbrock intake/carburetor. It has a tapping noise that I believe to be a header exhaust leak maybe a lifter; It’s not a knocking sound. The transmission is a TH-350 and has clean fluid. I have driven the car through my neighborhood and it shifts fine. The body needs some work. The radiator support is good, right front floor pan has been replaced, left front has a very small spot of rust, the two front fenders need lower patching, rear quarters need half quarters replaced, needs outer wheels, truck floor and rear truck panel. The tires are like new. The previous owner couldn’t find the keys so I had to drill the truck lock out. I replace the ignition key but there’s no keys for the doors.
