Vehicle Detail

Purchased new on 5/12/17 . List of modifications include; Yoshimura Carbon Fiber Race Exhaust Yoshimura Rear Fender Eliminator Kit Dynojet Power Commander V Dynojet Wide Band 2 Chimera Cold Air Intake with K&N filter JT 14-Tooth Front Sprocket ( stock is 15-Tooth ) PBI 36-Tooth Rear Sprocket ( stock is 34-tooth ) MZS Adjustable Levers Red Engine Case Inspection Covers Flush Mount LED Front Turn Signal Kit Red Arrow Bar End Mirror OEM Red Body Panels ( Pearl White panels included - easy to switch out ) OTB Chain Adjusters ( The stock chain adjusters ARE GARBAGE ) All take off parts are in brand new condition and included with bike if you should ever want to return bike to 100% stock Original packaging of aftermarket parts ( incl. receipts ) Some extra sprockets and heavy duty chain ( DID 428 VX ) And the plastic container with cover to keep all this stuff in. Here is what you probably don't know unless you have owned a Grom previously: The stock bike new is $3000 +/- $100 or so, plus you will pay a dealer set-up fee, and freight ( add about $600 ) The stock bike will go 55 mph, down hill, with a tail wind You are NOT going to purchase a Yoshimura Slip On ( $200 plus ) and make the bike go 1 mph faster This is a fuel injected bike. To meet emissions requirements in all the countries that Honda sells these bikes, the air/fuel mix is so choked up, the bike will barely get out of its own way. Just look at the stock exhaust - I've seen catalytic converters on cars that are smaller. Then look at the stock airbox - it's the size of a football and weighs about 7 pounds ! I have set this Grom up for absolute peak engine performance ! AND - IT - HAULS - ASS You might think that you are just going to cruz the hood on your new Grom and this stuff is over the top You will eventually leave the hood, have cars honking at you going up a hill wide open at 40 mph in a 50 mph zone, and girls ( or boys ) will laugh at you. The performance upgrades are not only absolutely necessary, they are an investment in fun and worth every penny spent. This is the nicest GROM you will ever get a chance to buy. On Sep-30-17 at 12:49:39 PDT, seller added the following information: This was my first Grom. My opinion is that, 1) the Yoshi pipe, while it does eliminate the giant smog box that is part of the stock exhaust, doesn't do anything by itself except make the bike sound good, 2) same goes for removing the giant smog box of an air filter, and replacing with a stack and mesh filter without a box, and 3) the Power Commander V only allows for air fuel mixture adjustment above 8000 rpm's. This bike only produces about 8 horsepower stock. The three modifications mentioned above might increase horsepower by 10% at best, which is not enough to feel any increase in performance. THE DIFFERENCE MAKER IS THE WIDE BAND COMMANDER 2, which bypasses the stock ECU ( and actually makes the PC-V un-necessary ), making air fuel mix completely open loop. This Wide Band Commander 2 was dyno configured by HardRacing to run the mix at 13/5 across the entire rpm range. This, combined with the changes in sprocket sizes ( less teeth front and more rear ), makes the little bike jump thru the gears ( it will blow away a stock Grom ) and the horsepower increase is enough to pull the motor to a top speed near 70mph ( estimate because I have not installed a speedo calibration gauge ). In summary, a stock Grom is a scooter in a sport bike suit. This modified Grom is a small size sport bike and is really fun to ride. I am only selling because I purchased a Husqvarna 450 motocross bike ( with street legal kit ) - which is really how I like to ride. What I enjoyed most about my Grom was learning how to tune a fuel injected bike for maximum performance.
