It offered tire-shredding race car performance in a rental car, and when you were done, you simply returned it to Hertz. For 2006, Ford, Shelby and Hertz had teamed up again to create a brand new "Rent-A-Racer," the Shelby GT-H. Reminiscent of the original, the 2006 GT-H featured the same black-and-gold paint scheme that made the G.T.350H so striking. Other unique features included a special hood with hood pins, an aluminum grille, GT-CS style front fascia, unique wheels and Shelby GT-H & Hertz badging. The Ford Racing FR1 Power Pack with a cold-air intake, muffler set and a unique X-pipe adds 25 additional horsepower (for a total of 325) and 10 extra foot-pounds of torque (now up to 320). Ford Racing's FR3 Handling Pack is also part of the equation, with specially tuned dampers, lowering springs, thicker sway bars and a strut tower brace.
