I purchased this car from a gentleman on the west coast in 2001. At that time, the car had 83,000 miles on it. The original 383 motor was in need of a rebuild. I had in my possession 2 professionally rebuilt 69 and 70 440 motors. ( Rebuilt by Mancini Motors of Catonsville MD.) I installed the 69 motor in the car. Since that time I have put less than 6000 miles on the car. I use it for car shows and cruise ins only. It has won numerous trophies including best in class and best in show. There is no rust that I have observed, the interior was redone , in good taste ( I Think). The car has never been wet since I have owned it. It was always cleaned with No Wet products. Since I am now in my 70's and ha,ve 3 collector cars, I find less interest in keeping them all up, so I want to downsize the number. I have this car and a Dodge Magnum for sale. Mr. Mancini told me back in 2002 that the car engine would perform more efficiently if I found a way to get cooler air into it. That is why I have colol air going from the wheel wells to the air cleaner. The transmission is a 727 and the rear is an 8-3/4 posi with 3:23 gears. I was not interested in speed. It honestly gets 18. 3 on a cruise. I know the car is worth 23,000 if it was an original 440 car and would be worth 18,500 with the original 383 motor, so I feel that my asking price is more than a good deal.
