Vehicle Detail

Listed here is a 1952 Matchless G80S that I have had a short period of time. The previous owner had it since 2007. I do not know any history beyond that. When I got the bike the previous owner said it was parked running good and the next time he went to ride it he couldn't get it started. I have been able to get is started but it runs very poorly and only in the advanced position. It was not smoking or rattling but had poor throttle response. The carb seems clean and the compression is excellent. Maybe the magneto has problems I don't know. Overall this is a clean bike with what appears to be a small bend at the bottom of the rear fender and some dings in the shock bodys. The upper portion of the rear fender has some holes maybe for a prior buddy seat or rack. The transmission clicks through the gears and the clutch pull feels normal. The choke and mag advance levers operate right. The air filter is a K&N type but has a somewhat stock appearance. The taillight is a reproduction and the headlight is a Lucas. The bike has apparently had a reassigned vin at some point as the factory vin is 80480. I cannot find the vin stated on the title anywhere on the bike so I'm am selling it as is, where is with a bill of sale. It shouldn't be that hard to get it fixed or get a bonded title. I have elected to sell it like it sets and not mess with it any further. This should be a great bike for somebody. Again as is on a bill of sale. Selling at no reserve beyond the $3000 opening bid but reserve the right to sell it locally if the right offer comes along. Thanks for looking. On Sep-09-17 at 05:44:33 PDT, seller added the following information: I just noticed a small piece of cylinder fin broke off near the intake pushrod tube. You can see it in the pics if you look close.
