Vehicle Detail
General – I am selling my little 53 Ford F-100 which I have owned for many years. The mileage is 56,569. The truck is in a partially original, partly restored condition and deserves to be completely restored or could be made into a hot rod (although I would not want to hear about that). This truck has a clear Montana title, is currently licensed, insured, and has been my fun truck, go to the dump truck, yard truck, and haul stuff truck. Legend has it, this truck has been in and around Lewis and Clark and Jefferson counties Montana for all its life. These trucks are among the most sought-after trucks of their era. This one is the exact truck many people are looking for today, one which is unmolested, and can be driven while you restore or can be driven as is. These trucks make a great place to advertise your business, PNP, club, race team, cause or whatever. It is a lot of fun and takes you back in time. You will not have to worry about getting a ticket for texting while driving this truck, because you will not have enough hands to steer, shift, give hand and arm signals and still have a hand left over for sending a text or drinking a latte. What you will experience is the fun of driving as we did back in the day. BODY - The best part about this truck is the solid body; we are very dry here in Montana and the winters are too cold to spread salt on the roads. There are very few (two) exterior rust through spots, both easy fixes, see pictures). The cab floor is virtually rust free, (see pictures). When I first purchased the truck, It had surface rust and mismatched color fenders, so I sanded the truck and primed it. I never applied a finish coat. The primer was starting to show wear and show blemishes so recently I again sanded and primed the truck. I used Finish 1, 2KHS urethane primer. While sanding I found no evidence of accidents, and only a little bondo in the left front fender and that was for dents not rust. The F100 hood ornaments were AWOL, but I have a nice set from another truck and once the reserve is met I will include those with th[s truck. The body is in amazingly good condition. If your goal is restoration, you are time and money ahead by finding as rust free of a vehicle as you can. It does however have sixty-four years of dents and dings. The bed floor was originally pine boards, the current configuration is the steel strips re-installed over plywood. I have always thought replacing the original wooden floor in one of these with a nice hardwood would be fun. I have used the truck to haul firewood, rock, timbers and yard debris. The hood cocks up in the back as most did; however, I have a brand-new set of hood hinges that I will send along with the truck, once the reserve is met. The tailgate is in nice condition and works just fine in all three positions. INTERIOR – Not much to talk about here. Very original, very complete, every knob and original feature is still present. The paint on the dash shines, (see picture). Most of the gages work. The seat has a saddle blanket kind of cover indicating torn or deteriorated original covers. Not sure if the glass is interior or body but I’ll address it here – the windshield has some wiper scratches but is not cracked or broken. The rear glass is just fine. Both side glasses and one wing window are cracked. However, once the reserve is met, I will include brand new side and vent windows with the truck. The lights work just fine. The heater/defroster blower does not work but I have a good used one, if I can find it, I will send along with the truck, once the reserve is met. . There is no radio but the good news is no one has cut the dash or doors to install a sound system. Mechanical - The engine could quite possibly be the original, at any rate I believe it to be a correct 215 CID which runs very well and has always started quickly. The transmission is a 4 speed, with the “granny” low; it does not jump out of any gear and it shifts smoothly. The transmission, clutch and driveshaft are well balanced and in good shape. The differential is original or of the right era, and it is geared well for highway use. The brakes are adequate. The tires should be replaced before you do any serious driving. The truck has a cold weather engine heater and the windshield wipers work on both speeds. Summary –This little truck is an excellent example of originality. It has been a long time since I have seen one this complete, original and clean. I have yet to meet the adult who did not have one or someone in their family or a friend that had one of this body style. Should you decide to make a show or parade truck out of it, the work required will be fun and easy and you can drive it daily as you work. I hope you are not buying it to make a hot rod out of it as it deserves to be brought back to its original condition. Payment, Disclaimers, Storage, and Transportation - I require a nonrefundable deposit of $500.00 within 48 hours and the remainder prior to me sending you the title. Please only the deposit by PayPal unless you ae willing to pay their surcharge. Well I have tried to represent the truck as honestly and accurately as I can; please read the description carefully and look closely at the pictures. Make no mistake it is not perfect and don’t worry there is still work you can do. The truck is sold as is, where is, and with no guarantee nor warrantee implied or specified. I am very proud of my 100% eBay rating and will answer questions. I will post some of them so that others may benefit. I would not like to store the truck very long because of worry of liability and responsibility issues, but I will keep it in an enclosed storage compound if you pay the 45-dollar monthly storage fee. Due to previous non-payment issues, I have encountered, please contact me first if you have less than 10 feedback. This is so I can establish the fact that you are serious about buying the truck, have the funds, and will fulfill your obligations. Well thank you for reading my ad, and good luck with your bidding, and thank you for your interest. On Aug-21-17 at 11:22:38 PDT, seller added the following information: 21 August - I have noticed some 0 feedback (transactions) bidding on my truck; I asked in the ad if a person has less than 10 feedback to contact me first so I could establish their sincerity. Please understand if you bid you have both a moral as well as legal obligation to follow tthrough with payment. These ads cost us quite a bit of money, and I don't have that much. Thank you.
