Vehicle Detail

Here's my daily driver, a 1971 MG Midget. This is a nice older resto performed by a local who loved these cars and has done several. This one was for his wife. Sadly, he passed away and she decided to sell. I purchased it about 4-5 years ago and use it around town as my daily driver. I learned a lot about Midgets over that time and discovered that when this one was restored it was fitted with the 5 speed conversion, costing as much as $4,500. The trans shifts absolutely wonderful- with a nice tight feel. And fifth gear is a nice thing to have :) He also chose an older motor, 1966, I believe. 1098cc. Virtually no emissions restrictions. Ticks over beautifully! Unsure of actual milage, but this one is time tested and runs out just perfectly! Take a look at the pics. Sweet little car. This is not a trailer queen. It has plenty of normal wear for its age. But everything functions great and it is super fun to drive. A real gem. Who will be the lucky new owner? Happy bidding! 081717 Here's answers to a few questions I've had. The vinyl top is in good condition and works well. I do have the boot that covers the top when it is down, as well as the tonneau that covers the interior. The passinger seat is very good and the driver's seat has been re-sewn at several of the seams. I also have the headrests. They are fine but should be recovered. Lastly, I have the radio box in great shape. I just like the space when removed :) Another question: Please give me the engine number It is located on the top edge edge of the block under just under the spark plugs. This will allow me to know the model of the motor. Hello, engine number is: 10CC-DA-H 34738 On Aug-21-17 at 23:29:05 PDT, seller added the following information: BY POPULAR DEMAND - MORE PHOTOS POSTED: The condition of the structure of this little joy ride is quite amazing. (posting more photos now) The older restoration was very extensive. I'm guessing 15+ years ago. Motor out - frame off. The motor obviously was chosen carefully by the previous owner. It runs so nicely. (posting video tomorrow) Starts every time, never failed me in the last 5 years. The 5 speed conversion is no cheap upgrade. And I was fortunate to stumble onto this one already completed. The trans, clutch, and shifting on this is over the top excellent. I'd drive it to California if I knew some nice 50 mph roads to get me there :) On Aug-22-17 at 10:56:00 PDT, seller added the following information: Okay - just whipped up a video for you all! Put on your headphones to hear a wonderful 50 year old 1098 tick over. Exhaust has a nice note too and shifting gears and clutch action - over the top excellent :) 1971 MG Midget Video
