Vehicle Detail
1959 Chevrolet El camino. Car is originally from Kansas... it was a beauty new with white exterior with standard el camino grey interior. Likely a small-block, 3 on the tree car from the factory. I highly suggest an in-person inspection, naturally it's an 1959 and has normal old car issues..buyers should have some knowledge on older cars and understand what a project car is! Interested people are encouraged to ask any questions. This is a running and driving project car.. .Previous owner drove it locally but I'd recommend some TLC before any serious drive time.Clutch is very stiff to operate.Straight six engine, 4 speed stick shift, Cragar wheels. Complete car, has all the trim & chrome.Needs floor pan work, metal/body work, general restoration,etc... or you could cruise it rat rod style!I have a hood, bumper, dog dish caps, and spare bright-work which is included with the car. Body- Needs floor pan work, new frt pans are in place with sheetmetal screws..rear pans need replaced or refinished. Rockers have been repaired/capped previously, need body work.It could use lower quarter patches, as it has mud in very bottom of the quarters. Roof is nice & straight, rear overhang is solid! Doors have a rust spot or two but very workable, the bottoms are not all rotted through. Front sheet metal is the same, a rust spot here & there but plenty workable. Frame is good except for one spot near the rear axle that needs patched. Car is in primer currently has dents and needs bodywork. Trim- All trim is present, some side moldings have been screwed through (fenders/doors) but luckily the long quarter pcs are in good condition. The car has the optional impala grill guard. Bright work overall has dents/scuffs etc. -If the buy it now is met, I can include a set of replacement side moldings for the front fenders and doors, which are in good condition. -Engine is an straight six, electronic ignition, manual choke.I was told it was out of a 70's nova. It's a running engine but should really be replaced with a sbc or big block chevy for this car to have justice.. Glass is all good except one vent window and the dr. door glass has a crack. Interior- Missing door cards & headliner, dash is all original, bench seat, 4sp on the floor. I have known of this elco for about 5 yrs, and managed to buy it this season, I bought this to keep and drop in a sbc and just make it a rat rod cruiser...but I recently found another car I want and this forces a sale. This el camino would make a great gasser project, rat rod, restoration candidate etc.Or you could drive it as is with a little tlc. For another 1k the buyer can have a nearly new set of american racing torq thrust wheels. New tires, fronts rims are 15x6, rears are 15x8...this whole package new was around $1400 in wheels, lugs, center caps, & tires. It's a head turner / time machine with great potential! Absolutely nothing like a first year elco! Not then, not now! Car is located in Central Ohio and also for sale locally.I reserve the right to end the auction at any time for a local sale (prefered) Non-refundable deposit of $1000 due within 24hrs of auction end.Buyer is responsible for any shipping.I can allow up to two weeks for final pickup, rest of payment is due upon pickup. -DO NOT bid- unless you have the funds currently available and are a serious buyer, no dreamers or payment plan clowns. Not interested in trades. Car is a vintage project vehicle and therefore sold as is, with absolutely no warranty or garentee.
