Here we go again: Please DO NOT bid if you don't intend to pay. EXCELLENT DAILY DRIVER - CAN BE DRIVEN ANYWHERE: however this vehicle has ELECTRONIC ISSUES: You can fix it...or part it out. For some reason there's no "communication" of one or more of the SAM; Signal Acquisition Module unit (so I have been told by authorized Mercedes Dealer) with most of the door panel, upper console and steering wheel switches. As a result the steering column controls, power windows, sunroof, power seats, mirrors, turn signals, cruise control, central locking and windshield wipers are inoperable. All instrument cluster controls work with exception of fuel gauge . ABS light stays on but the braking system works fine. Purchased the car nearly a year ago and drove 8hrs from Virginia Beach to SC with an intention to get mentioned above problems corrected/reprogrammed. During last year time period I visited Mercedes Benz Dealership in SC as well as Bosch Mercedes Service and 2 independent "Mercedes Certified" shops without any significant progress. The estimate for diagnosis alone falls within $1200-$1500 (diagnostic plus 8-10hr labor) range. That's not even including solutions/repairs of existing problems !! It's time to give up all together and move on. I simply cannot afford necessary repairs to make the car 100% again. PROS: This 500CL runs and drives incredibly well. VERY FAST with smooth shifting automatic transmission. Climate control works in REST mode(excellent heat and not so cold A/C). Navigation, Sound system: Radio and CD changer work properly as well. The sunroof opens/closes manually.Functioning Head/Tail/Stop lights BRABUS package includes: Quad stainless steel entire BRABUS exhaust, ORIGINAL BRABUS RIMS, door step sill plates and emblems. That car is worth a small fortune in accessories alone being 100 percent complete-nothing is missing. Please don't hesitate to ask questions.
