This was my sister-in-law's project car. She bought it 15+ years ago, worked on it awhile then parked and covered it about 5 years. The original engine was replaced during that time.I took on the project recently to get it running and maybe restore. Too much of a project for me. I have the motor running, drove it around the block. Motor will not idle ??. Brakes good, no rust through, surface rust on chrome parts, inside of fender wells. Car was painted some years ago, peeling in some places but no body rust. Interior seems to be complete and original. The car has wiring issues, Wires to the fuse block had been removed and replaced at sometime and did not get reinstalled correctly so some accessories do not work. No shorts or burnt wiring. Top has been replaced, it is an insulated top, seems to be in good shape.I have a box of various parts as well as some VW repair books that go with the car. Overall I believe it has great potential for a restoration car since it is not rusted out and mechanicals seem to be there and functioning.
